Today we celebrate Palm Sunday—when Messiah entered the city of Jerusalem to start the Passion Week and was greeted with triumphal praise. As the crowds gathered, they shouted out a quotation of the 118th Psalm, “Hosanna…Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD!” Let's consider the setting there in Jerusalem that first Palm Sunday and then look at the original quoted Psalm, where we find a timely and encouraging challenge for each of us.
