We’re teaching on the Spiritual Authority, which every believer has. We have authority over Satan and over all of his evil forces. Some have said that this has been done away with OR that we don’t need this authority any more.

Know where does it ever say n the Bible that our Authority as a Believer has been done away with. As a matter of fact, Jesus even said that I give you Authority over all the Power of the Enemy. Never did Jesus even give us an idea that this would come to an end.

For those that say, “Well, the world is a whole lot better these days, the world for the most part has become civilized.” There is just as much, if not more demonic activity now, as there was then. If we didn’t have any authority over the forces of darkness than Satan would just be trampling the church under foot.

I.  Jesus said in (Luke 10:19) “Behold, I give unto you power (authority) to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

A.  It says in (MAT 28:18) “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” (KJV)

1.  All of His authority can be exercised by the Church, because Jesus is not here in person, in His physical body.

2.  The Bible says, in (1COR 12:27) that We are the body of Christ.

a)  Many times we’ve prayed, ‘Lord, do this or do that about the Devil or do this about the this problem,’ leaving everything up to Him.

b)  But He’s given us the authority over all the demonic forces, we need to do something.

(1)  Many time’s problems exist because we permit them to, we’re not doing anything about it.

3.  Kenneth Hagin told a story about his brother. He used to pray, ‘Lord, save my brother.’ Than one day the Lord spoke to him and said, “You do something about him, you have the authority.”

a)  Then Kenneth Hagin said, ‘In the Name of Jesus, I break the power of the devil over my brother’s life, and I claim his salvation.’

b)  Remember last time I read to you (ROM 5:17) from the Wuest translation, which said, “In life we will reign as kings through the One, it to he the to of the Jesus Christ.”

c)  The bible says that we are kings. Of course Jesus is the King of kings. But we are still kings.

(1)  When a king gives an order, he knows that it will be carried out.
(2)  When Kenneth Hagin gave that order in the name of Jesus, the devil had to stop what he was doing. His brother was saved within 10 days.

4.  Even in my own life I’ve seen when I’ve taken the authority it’s worked.   (When the Devil has been steeling from me with things braking down.)

B.  As long as you stay in Satan’s area of doubt, unbelief, and reason, he’ll win every time.

1.     But if you fight him in the arena of faith, you’ll beat him every time.

2.One of the best ways to get the answer for your problem or need is to demand your rights.

a)                       ACTS 3:2-8

(1)           But notice V 6

b)               Peter didn’t pray for the man to be healed. He demanded the man to be healed.

(1)            You’re not demanding God when you demand you rights; you’re demanding the devil to stop what he’s doing.

c)                Whenever you demand your rights in faith the devil has to give way.

(1)            You have to learn what your rights are.

C.              Look at MATT 4:10-11

1.Jesus gave a command to the Devil and the Devil left.

2.               Let’s look at another story similar to what we just read MATT 8:28-32.

a)    Jesus commanded the demons to go and they had to go.

3.     In (MATT 12:13) Jesus commanded the man that had a withered hand, to Stretch forth his hand.

a)    He was commanding the man’s hand to be healed.

4.               ACTS 16:16-18

a)                This time we see it not only coming from Jesus, but also this time Paul (not even 1 of the 12 disciples) cast out the devil.

b)   The word “divination” in V 16 is really the words SPIRIT OF PYTHON.

c)                And the word “grieved” from the KJV or “Annoyed” from the NKJV in V 18 means, “to work out laboriously, make complete by labour, to exert one’s self, strive, to manage with pains, accomplish with great labour, to be troubled, displeased, offended, pained, to be worked up.”

II. There is 1 important point that I want to make, and that is we must MAINTAIN BALANCE.

A.             In EPH 1, and EPH 3, Paul prayed that we would have wisdom and understanding.

1.             Error can be caused because of misunderstanding.

a)             It seems like the apostles were always writing to the churches to correct some error that might have gotten in.

b)             You can take just about anything to the extreme, and it will become harmful.

(1)             People could try to use their authority in an unscriptual way.

2.             John Alexander Dowie crossed the ocean many times in his life. During his travels, he encountered many storms, but every time a storm came up he rebuked it and it always ceased.

a)             That’s using our authority in a correct way.

B.             That shouldn’t surprise us. Jesus said in (JOHN 14:12) “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater {works} than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” (KJV)

1.             Jesus didn’t just say that only a few would do these greater works.

a)             He said, “He that believes on me would do these greater works.”

III.             EPH 6:12 (My bible says, Wicked spirits in the heavenly)

A.             Notice that we may wrestle against all the different types of spiritual wickedness.

1.             Let’s go on reading EPH 6:12-18

B.             When we come in contact with these different demonic beings, we need to know that Jesus already defeated them.

1.             (COL 2:15) “{And} having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” (KJV)

a)             Now that Jesus has dethroned them, we can reign over them.

2.             ADAM SOLD OUT.

a)             Adam was the 1 in authority in this world, after Adam’s fall Satan became the God of this world.

b)             Satan had a right to rule over us until we became new creatures in Christ. COL 1:12-13

c)             In the Greek it says, “Who hath delivered us from the AUTHORITY of darkness, and hath translated {us} into the kingdom of his dear Son:”

C.             Satan has no right to rule you or dominate you.

1.             Sometimes people think that we will not be able to exercise our spiritual authority until we get in the Millennium.

a)             Why will we need it then? Satan will be bound during the Millennium.

b)             There won’t be any need to exercise authority then, because there won’t be anything here that will hurt or destroy.

2.             No, we do have authority right now over Satan and all of his demonic forces.

a)             If we want to have that victorious life we have learn to use our authority over Satan.

IV.             Now there’s more to it than just knowing your rights. Faith is involved in exercising authority over the devil.

A.               There are times when you cast a devil out of someone, and the devil leaves immediately, but if they don’t when you speak the word of faith, don’t get disturbed about it.

1.I base my faith on what the Word says. Some base their faith on manifestations.

2.   (MAT 8:16) “When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with {his} word, and healed all that were sick:” (KJV)

3.MARK 1:23-26 What I wanted you to see here is that when Jesus cast out the spirit, immediately the man with the unclean spirit got worse, but the devil did come out.

4.MAT. 15:22-28 There’s 2 things that I want you to see here. 1st it says that she had a devil (or a demon). (V 22) says in the KJV, “My daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.” which means she had a demon. She was possessed with a Devil.

a)                2nd the devil didn’t come out immediately, he came out that same hour.

b)              Go back with me to ACT 16:18

(1)            In this V we also see that the spirit didn’t come out immediately. We have many references of the spirit coming out but not always did they come out as soon as the word was spoken.

c)                The devil doesn’t always come out that same moment. But if you spoke the word in faith, he must come out.

B.               And it’s the same thing in other areas of your life. You have authority over the enemy whenever he pops his head up.

1.We may not always see it when we 1st pray or the moment when we 1st take authority over Satan, but victory is coming.

a)                People often ask why does it seen to take so long.

(1)                1st of all we should want God’s timing.
(2)            Example: Let’s say that God wanted Word of Life to have a Christian school. (Don’t feel any direction in that area.) If He did, we have to fine God’s perfect timing. If we did it too soon then it could be devastating on the Church.
(3)                When we think that the timing is now, it might not be the Lord’s timing.

2.The 2nd reason things don’t happen immediately is because of the Satanic forces trying to stop the move of God and His promises from getting through.

a)                That why we not only have to ask in faith, but we also have to keep on standing in faith.

3.A 3rd reason is that it may be that you are asking wrongly or you’re asking for something that is not the will of God.

a)                That why it’s so important that we get in the Word and stay there.

b)               The promises that are found in the Word are the will of God.

C.               Sometimes the enemy will pop His head up in different areas. It might be sickness or it might be different problems.

1.Smith Wigglesworth said, ‘I’m not moved by what I see. I’m not moved by what I feel. I’m moved only by what I believe.’

a)  We need to take hold of that statement. I’m not moved by what I see. I’m not moved by what I feel. I’m only moved by what I believe and I believe the Word of God.

b)               So stand your ground against the devil.

c)                We can and should rise up against the devil, stand your ground, take your authority over him and the victory is at hand.
