Matthew 6:33 NKJV
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

In my life, I have had three pastors, Pastor Tucker, Pastor Kent, and Pastor Davis. The three of them combined influenced my formative years in life and in ministry. Each of them taught me to trust God for His provision. From them, I developed a mindset that desires to seek God first, knowing He will always take care of me. Jesus introduced a new way of thinking. Christians are not to adopt the surrounding culture, instead we are to seek the first the Kingdom of God. What does this mean? We must remember in its current form, the Kingdom of God is invisible. It does not have physical borders, walls, palaces, or thrones. Instead, the Kingdom of God is ruled by Jesus and filled with His followers. Currently our world is ripping apart at its seems. While Christians should exercise wisdom and caution, we must not let fear sweep over our hearts and control our minds. Jesus promised when we seek Him, He will provide for us. There is no catch, no secret agenda, and no hidden message. Simply put, if we will put God first, He will provide. When we put God first in our families, friendships, finances, and future we have the confidence that He will supply everything we need. I once heard Pastor Davis quote a poem that summarizes this thought, “Day by day the manna fell, oh that we would learn this lesson well. Day by day He will provide, if we walk humbly by His side.” Now is the hour where we must live out Jesus’ instructions. In this peculiar period of history, let’s seek God first and watch at how He provides.
