       This song must be t most scriptural Christmas song that I have ever heard. So were going to take different lines from this song & see what t Bible says about it. T Word of God will give us even more detail to t meaning of this song.

   I. T first line of that song is "Hark, t herald angels sing, glory to t new born king; peace on earth, and mercy mild.

           A. LUKE 2:8-14

                      1. Here we see why t angels were singing, because Jesus was born.

                                         a. T angels appeared to these shepherds as a sign to them, but it's also a sign to us.

                                         b. There were many people that had knowledge that t Son of God was born this day.

                                              i. We had these shepherds, there was also Mary, Elizabeth, Joseph, t Wise men, w/ t wise man must have a big company of people, There was Simeon & Anna.

                                              ii. LUKE 2:25-32

                                  c. We also have Anna mentioned right here in these Vs.

                                              i. LUKE 2:37-38

                                  d. There were many witnesses to testify that Jesus was t son of God.

                                              i. But t most important is that God testifies that Jesus is His son.

                                              ii. MATT 3:17

                                              iii. (2PET 1:17) says, "For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

                                              Iv. T Father testifies that Jesus is t Son of God.

           B. In that 1st line that we read of "Hark, t hearld angels sing," he calls Jesus t "New Born King"

                      1. In t Book of (REV 19:16) And he hath on {his} vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

                      2. Then he goes on to say "Peace on earth," Jesus is t only one that will bring peace on earth.

                                  i. In (ISA 9:6) Jesus is called "The Prince of Peace."

           C. "God & sinners reconciled."

                      1. 2COR 5:18


                                  a. (ROM 5:10) Says, "When we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by is life.

                                  b. (COL 1:21) Says, "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in {your} mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled."

                                              i. You are now reconciled back to God thru t cross of Jesus.

                      2. "Joyful, all ye nations, rise, join t triumph of t skies; w/ angelic host proclaim, Christ is Born in Bethlehem."

                                  a. If you remember t V that we read in (LUKE 2:11) T angelic host proclaimed For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

                                                     i. T city of David is t town of Bethlehem.

                                  b. Look at LUKE 2:3-7

                                              i. That's just t 1st stanza.

   II. "Christ by highest heaven adored."

           A. (PHIL 2:9 & 10) Says, "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of {things} in heaven, and {things} in earth, and {things} under the earth;

           B. "Christ, t Everlasting Lord."

                             1. We already read from (REV 19:16) Which called Jesus t Lord of lords.

                                         a. LUK 1:33

                                         b. (REV 11:15) Says, "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become {the kingdoms} of our Lord, an d of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

                      2. "Late in time behold Him come, off-spring of a virgin's womb."

                                         a. LUKE 1:26-31

                                         b. Even in (ISA 7:14) it says that Jesus would be born from a virgin.

           C. "Veiled in flesh t God-head see, hail t incarnate deity! Pleased as man w/ man to dwell, Jesus our Immanuel."

                             1. JOHN 1:1-3,14

                                         a. Jesus who is t 2nd person of t God-Head, took on human from to become a man. Setting aside all of His deity to become a man, he is still God t Son.


                                  b. In (ISA 7:14) Isaiah says that He shall be called IMMANUEL. Which means "God is w/ us."

   III. Nail t heaven born prince of peace, hail t son of righteousness.

                 A. (2TIM 4:8) calls Jesus "T Righteous Judge."

                             1. (JER 23:6) Calls Him "THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS."

                 B. "Light & life to all He bring."

                             1. Jesus said in (JOHN 8:12) "I am the light of the world."

                             2. He also said in (JOHN 14:6) "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

                 C. "Risen w/ healing in His wings."

                             1. MAL 4:2

                                         a. T NIV translation says, "But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall."

                             2. (1PET 2:24) Says, :By whose stripes ye  were healed."

           D. "Mild He lays His glory by, born that man no more may die; Born to raise t sons of Earth, born to give them 2nd birth."

                             1. Jesus said to Nicodemus in (JOHN 3:3, 7),"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."

                             2. That is t 2nd birth.

   IV. "Come, desire of nations, come! Fix in us thy humble home: Rise, t woman's conquering seed, bruise in us t serpent's head."

                 A. 1st of all he calls Jesus "conquering."

                             1. COL 2:15

                                         a. T Lord Jesus Christ won t victory over Satan & over all his evil forces.

                             2. He also calls Him "woman's seed."

                                         a. (GEN 3:15) Says, "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."

                                         b. When He's talking about "her seed", He's talking about t Lord Jesus Christ.

                 B. "Adam's likeness now efface, stamp t image in its place: Second Adam from above, reinstate us in thy love. "

                      1. T word "Efface" means to erase.


                                  a. 1COR 15:45-49

                                  b. We were born into this world in Adam's likeness.

                                              i. But now we are restored back to t image of God

                                              ii. T Bible says in (EPH 2:10) that now, we are created in Christ Jesus.

                      2. He ends w/ t statement "Reinstate us in thy love."

                                         a. (ROM 8:39) Says, "Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

                                         b. For God so loved t world, that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting
