Scripture Reading
Scripture Reading
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Tim and Lisa you are choosing this day to commit to each other, under the authority of Christ and his church, to a marriage with no end in sight, a marriage built on the truth of God’s scripture and also the bond he has create for you.
God has brought you together in a bond that is unlike anything else we have on this earth. As we have talked about in previous meetings, marriage is like a nuclear reactor. It has the ability to bring great destruction or great power to your lives.
At the core there must be trust, patience, kindness, grace, mercy but most importantly Christ. His life death and resurrection is the guiding light for you in your life as individuals and in marriage.
the gospel is this, Christ came, lived a perfect life, died on a cross at the hands of humanity and asked for God to forgive them.
Jesus showed mercy, not giving them what they deserved
Jesus gave grace, a gift they didn’t deserve.
Christ must be the cornerstone of any marriage because in it we find the full expression of mercy and grace.
As Christ is committed to you now you two choose to commit to each other.
This commitment will be spoken in your vows you have for each other

Tim will you repeat after me
Lisa, I believe in you
The person you will grow to be
and the couple we will be together.
With my whole heart, I take you as my wife
Acknowledging and accepting your faults and strengths
As you do mine
I promise to be faithful and supportive
and to always make our family’s love and happiness my priority
I will be yours in plenty and in want
in sickness and in health
in failure and triumph
I will dream with you
celebrate with you
and walk beside you through whatever our lives may bring.
You are my person,
my love and my life
today and always.
