What Jesus does is counter cultural. What he does is not usual, it is unusual. At the height of his popularity and at the place where he could seize power he doesn’t he instead chooses to identify with the people that he has been serving all along (elaborate). He tells his disciples to get a donkey, a beast of burden and not a steed.

Reasonable Praise

What they Seen

Can you thing of any other response to the blessings of God besides praising his holy name? The bible tells us that the crowd that is here at this point are the very people who have been following him for some time. These were Jesus' disciples. This is more than just the twelve we thing of, those are the disciples known as apostles, but Jesus had some other people who began following him and his ways. I can only picture who was there.

And because they had been with him, and learned from him, they had seen and experienced what God was doing through Jesus. So, the logical response is to give God praise for what he has done.

You couldn't do it on your own.God didn't have to do in the first place.

Who would Save

So now these disciples are all caught up in the moment because of what God has done in their lives but that's not the only reason. They now a legal right afforded to them by the King of Kings. They are in procession, and a great procession at that. And the honoree in this procession is non other than the King Himself. Their selected hymn is (quote). This chant or lyric they are shouting is specifically intended to inaugurate the expected Messiah. Or in other words, this song was specially set aside for the arrival of Christ. So when Jesus is now on the scene, the disciples there are celebrating the King in their midst. Many of them, probably didn't understand completely what type of messiah Jesus was going to be, but that's neither here nor there right now. What is important is that they were now finally acknowledging their citizenship of the kingdom of God. Blessed is the King that comes in the name of the LORD.

Responsibility to Proclaim

We have a job as believers to give God the glory and worship due his name. God is a jealous God and He is about His worship. The bible says that at the end, "every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord to the Glory of God the Father." He is going to get His glory one way or the other. So why, if you are saved and blessed, should we dare to with hold that which belongs to God. Don't be a Pharisee.

Pharisees were the religious leaders of the day, and they had some major character flaws. They didn't think that there is a responsibility to praise God with thanksgiving even though they were there. (talk about them being in the crowd) Then they appealed to his dignity, "teacher", "Master". (preach on education and titles)
