Intro

Good morning and Happy Easter! I am so glad you have chosen to join us virtually this morning.
If you were here in person here is what we would do I would shout, he is risen, and you would shout back he is risen indeed… so, are you ready to freak out your dogs, cats, and small children there at home?…
He is Risen!!
I couldn’t hear you, one more time… just kidding!!
Before we begin this morning I have an announcement to make… If you have been joining ABC in person before this all hit I had told you that today would be the day for me to share an exciting announcement about ABC with you… however I was hoping to share this exciting news in person rather then virtually, so I am going to have to string you along a little longer and tell you that we have some exciting things happening here and I cannot wait until we are back together so I can share these things with you!
So with that, lets pray and get into todays text…
Prayer
God our father in heaven we thank you for this day, we thank you for the technology that we can still meet together, as the media has said we are alone together! But we are never alone with you, with you we are always together. We praise you for this day that we get a special reminder of your victory, of your sacrifice, of your gift of life to us. Today is especially blessed because of where we are as a world right now. As the world suffers loss, sickness and death we need this reminder of hope, forgiveness, and life! Therefore we thank and praise you oh GOD for your goodness and faithfulness to us, and we pray that todays message would bring you glory not only in bringing your Word to people but in bringing people to you. God may your will be done in the preaching of your word this day. AMEN!

Message - The Risen King - Matt 28.1-10

Matthew 28:1–10 ESV
1 Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4 And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. 5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” 8 So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
Matthew 28:6 ESV

How do I receive salvation? What must I do to be saved?
Matthew 28:8–9 ESV
8 So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.
Leave the land of death

Invitation...
God in heaven I recognize the truth and authority of your word. I agree with your Holy statutes and standards and I admit the guilt of my sin against you. Today I ask for your forgiveness, today I ask for reconciliation with you, today I ask that Jesus would be my personal savior. I know that the guilt of my sin cannot be paid for or covered by anything that I can do, it has to be you Jesus, it has to be your blood, your sacrifice. God I plead with you for the forgiveness that you offer through the blood of Jesus. I believe that Jesus is Lord, I believe that you raised him from the dead, I believe that by faith in Him you will save me. I thank you for offering me this forgiveness and I today receive it, help me to continue to repent and seek to know you more. Help me to die to my old life and live for you, give me your Holy Spirit to dwell within me to change and clean me from the inside out. Thank you my God and King, thank you LORD Jesus, thank you Holy Spirit. Amen my father Amen!

Prayer
Oh God our Father in Heaven, Holy is your name! As we have spent time looking at your Word this morning we recognize that Easter, the celebration of Jesus resurrection is a joy-us and yet fearful truth. For if Jesus was raised from the dead He is Lord, and if He is Lord that means we must give him account of our lives, our sin, and submit to His judgements over us. We must come to grips with our need for a saviour, and our depravity before a holy God who would require such a sacrifice as your own Son on our behalf. Oh the reckoning this must bring to bear upon our hearts!
However, for everyone who knows you as LORD and has accepted you as savior we have this blessed hope that you are God, you never lie, you never worry, you are over all things and even the grave cannot stop us when you are ours. Thank you for the hope and peace we have in you, thank you for the salvation you have wrought, thank you for the gospel of Jesus. who came to die that we might live, that we might have life and have it abundantly!
Therefore as we wait for you to come again, we cry out come Lord Jesus come!
Amen
