Last week we started a teaching on demons & even more specific on the origin of demons.

     I. Some have thought that they are fallen angels.

              A. (2PET 2:4) “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast [them] down to hell, and delivered [them] into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;”

                        1. Maybe not all of them, because Lucifer (Satan) is a fallen angel but he is not in Hell YET.

                                  a. But we would have to say that most are in hell.

                        2. In (EPH 6:12) It says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].” {high: or, heavenly}

                                  a. I fell that those Spiritual wickedness in high places (heavenly) are fallen angels.

                                  b. The Bible does talk about 3 heavens.

                                  c. (2 Corinthians 12:2) “I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.”

                                           i. Paul makes mention of 3 heavens.

                                                     a. 1 heaven would have to be the heaven of God.

                                                     b. Another heaven we see from (EPH 6:12) “Spiritual wickedness in the heavenly.” That must be in our atmosphere.

                                                     c. The last of the 3 heavens we don't see in the Word, but we can make a good guess. What's between our atmosphere & the heaven of God? Space

              B. The only other theory to the origin of demons is the theory of a “Preadamic race.”

                        1. In short, that is the teaching which says that there was a race of beings on this Earth that live long before Adam.

                                  a. This race became so corrupt through the work of Satan that God destroyed the earth with a flood. (Not Noah's flood, 1 long before that.)

II. I want to go on in a little different direction. I want to look at fallen angels & Satan himself.

              A. Turn to EZE 28:1-2

                        1. These 2 Vs are talking about the “Prince of Tyrus.” Who is a man. The Word of God says that he is a man.

              B. EZE 28:12

                        1. This is talking about someone else. In (V 1& 2) it was talking about the “Prince of Tyrus” but in (V 12) we start talking about the “King of Tyrus. ”

                        2. The last part of (Ezekiel 28:12) Says, “Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.”

                                  a. The NIV makes it a little clearer. The NIV says, “This is what the Sovereign LORD says: You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.”

                                  b. At this time, what person is the model of perfection, full of wisdom, & perfect in beauty? Jesus wasn't born yet.

                                  c. This could only be an angel.

                                           i. Further proof that it is not Jesus in found in (V 15) where it says that this being was created.

ii. Jesus was not created He always was. Angels are created. Adam is the only man that was ever created in that same sense.

                        3. (V 13) Clarifies things a little bit. EZE 28:13a

                                  a. The book of EZEKIEL was written about 590 BC. The Garden of Eden was about 4000 BC.

                                  b. No one ever lived that long.

                                           i. This had to be Satan.

ii. There were very few charters in the Garden of Eden.

                                                     a. God, Adam, Eve, & Satan.

                                                     b. God is still in heaven. Adam & Eve are dead. That only leaves Satan.

                                           i. As you look in this chapter you see that it was an angel, a cherub. V 14 Satan

                        2. Now that we know that these Vs here in (EZE 28:12-19) are talking about Satan, a fallen angel, I Want you to look again at EZE 28:12

                                  a. This V calls Satan the “King of Tyrus.”

                        3. Now turn to DAN 10:2-3, 10-12

                                  a. This was an angel that came to Daniel.

                                           i. I like the part that says, “The first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.”

ii. This should tell you that the 1st day you pray & believe God for something, He sends the answer.

                                  b. But what stooped the answer from getting through?

                        4. V 13

                                  a. The prince of the kingdom of Persia stopped the angel from making it through our atmosphere.

                                           i. This prince of the kingdom of Persia must have been a fallen angel that was over a city.

ii. It calls him the prince of the kingdom of Persia.

iii. In (EZE 28:12) it calls Satan the king of Tyrus.

                                  b. Can you see the similarity between these 2 Vs.?

                                           i. Satan must have been ruling over the kingdom of Tyrus in the heavenlies.

ii. This other fallen angel must have been ruling over the kingdom of Persia from the heavenlies.

III. People often wonder why God ever created Satan.

              A. 1st of all we know that God did not create Satan the way he is now.

                        1. Go back to EZE 28:15.

                                  a. When God created him, he was perfect, but after some time iniquity or unrighteousness entered into him.

                        2. (V 17) show us what happened. (read)

                                  a. Some translations say that pride came into his heart because of his beauty.

                                           i. (Proverbs 16:18) Says, “Pride [goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

                                  b. At this point Satan fell & the angels that followed him fell with him.

                        3. REV 12:9

                                  a. The (REV 12:9 NIV) Says, “He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” Luke 10:18

                                  b. Here we have another interesting fact.

                                  c. When the devil's angels were 1st cast out of heaven why does it say that they were cast to the Earth, when (2PETER 2:4) says they are in Hell. (majority of them)

                                           i. Something must have happened for God to cast them to the Earth, then to hell later.

              B. GEN 6:1-8

                        1. The bible says that there were giants in the Earth.

                                  a. In other translation it says that the giants came from the sons of God & the daughters of men.

                                  b. But at this time there was no one that was born-again. There were no sons of God in that sense.

                                           i. So who were these sons of God?

ii. 3 times in the book of Job we see the same phraseSons of God”, but in these passages it looks like they are fallen angels.

                                  c. It's possible that the sons of God in (GEN 6) are also fallen angels.

                                           i. It says that they took wives & the offspring were giants.

ii. Just after that God destroyed the inhabitants of the Earth with a flood.

                        2. Maybe this is the time that God thrust them into Hell.
