Hope is Alive
Hope is Alive
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Into here of why we have hope!
Hope is alive because of the :
I. Perfection of Christ
I. Perfection of Christ
1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. 2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. 3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; 4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; 5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. 6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. 7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: 8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: 9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. 11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Heb 9:1-14
heb 9:
Explain the tabernacle and the temple
inside the holy of holies was the ark of the covenant
Inside the holy of holies was the presence of God
Only the great high priest could enter in once a year to present a blood sacrifice sprinkled on the ark of the covenant to cover the sins of the people for one year.
This was temporary and had to be done each year
Within the first veil of this tabernacle there “was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary,” ().
When it was time, “the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God,” ().
There was also a second veil “which is called the Holiest of all,” (). “Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant,” ().
The second veil was entered by “the high priest alone once every year,” he brought blood, “which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people,” ().
The way to “the holiest of all was not yet” declared, ().
Meaning, Christ had not yet come, so only the High Priest could enter in.
When Christ died on the Cross for our sins, this tore that veil from top to bottom and enabled all of us to come to God directly and commune with Him through the Holy Spirit.
The point, as states, Christ was this High Priest, so His Sacrifice was worthy, ().
Christ fulfilled this obligation, animal sacrifice by shedding His Blood so we could have the opportunity at Eternal Life.
He did this one time and one time only, it was not to be repeated, ().
Otherwise, Christ would have been doing it since the “foundation of the world,” until today, ().
In oder for Christ to be the final sacrifice he had to be perfect with out sin
The Lamb of God.
The offerings of the Priests could never take away the sins of the people, it was not possible as we learned earlier. But it did keep the pain of their error in their heart and mind so they would hopefully cease from the sin.
12 “But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;”
What Man?
Jesus Christ, and when His offering was complete, He was in the very presence of God sitting on His Right Hand, ().
14 “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
One offering.
One time.
17 “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”
God will not remember your sins if you have ceased the sin and asked for forgiveness.
To be perfect He would be w/o sin the son of God
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Hope is Alive because of the Perfection of Christ
Hope is Alive Because of the
II. Love of Christ
II. Love of Christ
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
God's love is the only love that never falters and never fails.
Take comfort in your faith and knows that God truly loves you, now and forever.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
God showed His love by willing sending His son to die for us.
While we were enemies against Him He dies for us.
While I was sinning God is calling
While I was away from Him God is calling
While I was cursing and fighting God is calling
While I was hated by others God is calling and my friend
While the world laughs and scorns God is loving
As the world turns against me God is there loving me
He loves the outcast
He loves the hurting
He loves the disfranchised
The one in the cancer ward
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Hope is alive because of the Love of Christ
Hope is alive because:
III. I Am a New Creature
III. I Am a New Creature
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
My sins have been forgiven
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 john 1.9

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
