BIG IDEA: C
hrist’s resurrection gives us h
ope for the present and the future.
A PRESENT HOPE
The bodily resurrection...
● is central to the gospel message. (1 Corinthians 15:3-8)
● reminds us of our union with Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:20-22)
● declares the ultimate t riumph of Jesus over sin and death. ( 1 Corinthians 15:54-57)
● affirms that our toil and labor in this life are not in vain. ( 1 Corinthians 15:58)
A FUTURE HOPE
The bodily resurrection...
● builds anticipation for a life that is bigger than our imaginations. (1 Corinthians
15:42-49)
● joins us to an eternal kingdom. ( 1 Corinthians 15:50-53)
QUESTIONS TO PONDER
● How do you know if you are taking the resurrection for granted? What steps can you
take to guard yourself against this attitude?
● Everyone has challenges they want to overcome. Take a few moments and think
about some challenges you are currently facing. In what ways does the gospel (and
the resurrection) give you hope and strength to overcome life’s challenges?
