I. Luke 8:40-42: (Woman with the issue of blood)
A. Luke 8 48-50
B. Listen to it from the Wuest translation, “While He was yet speaking, a certain one comes from the home of the leader of the synagogue, saying, She has died, your daughter. No longer keep on disturbing the Teacher. But Jesus, having heard, said to him, Stop fearing. Only believe at once, and she shall be brought back to life.”[1]
1. Notice the emphases, “Only believe at once.”
a) Kenneth Wuest is a Greek scholar.
2. 2 Tim 1:7 Says, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”[2]

4. Go back to Luke 8:50
5. In the Greek according to the Greek tenses, this means, “Stop fearing Immediately, but alone continue to believe without stopping.” (imperative)
a) Read V 50 again,
b) Actually the Greek words it “Not fear” meaning “No more continuous action of fear, but stop it now.”
C. There is no “but” there, but one is implied. Means opposite.
1. Believing only is what gets the job done.
