The resurrection is defiantly a season finally but it’s meant to bring you back to more.

Scripture: Defining the Passage
The Great Conquering
The Great Conquering
The Conquer of Sin and Death
The Conquer of Sin and Death
Matt 28:
Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
All sin was paid for on the cross when Jesus said “It is finished.”
The penalty of Death was conquered through the resurrection.
Jesus was raised and gone before the stone was rolled away.
No one had the power or might to close the tomb with God’s Angel sitting on it.
The Conquer of the the Grave
The Conquer of the the Grave
And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.
Matthew 28:
Jesus was raised and gone before the stone was rolled away.
No one had the power or might to close the tomb with God’s Angel sitting on it.
And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.
Matt 28:4-
It’s the empty tomb that separates Christianity from all other religions of the world.
“I serve a risen Saviour, He's in the world today
I know that He is living, whatever men may say
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer
And just the time I need Him He's always near
He lives (He lives), He lives (He lives), Christ Jesus lives today
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life's narrow way
He lives (He lives), He lives (He lives), Salvation to impart
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart”
I know that Jesus is alive today not because I saw an empty tomb because I haven’t.
I know that Jesus is alive today because of my personal relationship with him.
He speaks to my soul.
He guides my steps.
He brings faith, hope, and love into my life.
The Conquer of Fear
The Conquer of Fear
So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
Matt 28:8
Fear is the feeling of uncertainty caused by the unknown.
“Fear is replaced with faith when you trust in the Lord.”
Fear turns to hope. Hope produces great joy.
The Great Cover Up
The Great Cover Up
While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’
Matthew 28:
Cover Up is always for self preservation.
Cover Up is always for self preservation.
The chief priests had to willfully deny the eye-witness accounts.
Their willful denial causes others to doubt.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,
and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.
1 Cor 15:
Cover Up always hurts others.
Cover Up always hurts others.
So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.
Matthew 28:
Think of how many Jews died without the saving knowledge of their Messiah because the leaders were covering their butts.
This cover up is still hurting people today.
“When Christians keep silent because of social or political pressures, they become a part of the great cover up. “
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

The Great Commission
The Great Commission
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted.
Push through the Doubt.
Push through the Doubt.
Matthew 28:16
It’s normal to doubt unnatural. The resurrection in not natural.
it’s the overwhelming evidence of the resurrection that causes people to put their faith in Jesus.
“You must push through your doubt to get the gospel out!”

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Matthew 28:18
The Great Commission expanded the horizon of the gospel to all the World.
Jesus would no longer be considered the King of the Jews but the King of the Nations.
And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
“Great and amazing are your deeds,
O Lord God the Almighty!
Just and true are your ways,
O King of the nations!
Who will not fear, O Lord,
and glorify your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

Rev 15:
Go in the authority of Jesus.
Go in the authority of Jesus.
If your going alone your missing the point.
The Latin community has a phrase they use. “Va con Dios.” (Go with God)
The great commission is all about a journey with the Lord.
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matt 28:20

The Great Commission expanded the horizon of the gospel to all the World.
