You are filled with the very life of God. According to (2 Peter 1:4) you are partakers of His very nature. As a child of God, you are an heir of all God is and all He has. You have already overcome because the overcomer dwells in you.

I) Jesus is greater than the Devil. (COL 2:15) Says that Jesus has spoiled principalities and powers. He is greater than sin, sickness, or poverty. Jesus is greater than any weapon formed against you.

A) (ISA 54:17) says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue {that} shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This {is} the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness {is} of me, saith the Lord.” (KJV)

1) THAT DOESN’T SAY, “SOME WEAPONS FORMED AGAINST YOU WILL PROSPER”. IT SAYS, “NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST YOU WILL PROSPER.”

2) WHAT ARE SOME WEAPONS THAT COULD BE FORMED AGAINST YOU? Sickness, Disease, Poverty, Bondages, Discouragement, and we could probable go on with a big list.

a) EPH 6:16.

b) A fiery dart is a weapon. (Probably not the devil. He’s after big names or governments, but we don't have to lose to the Devil or any of his cohorts. He doesn’t have to win. Through prayer, we tear down strongholds of the enemy and pray in the Will of God.

(i) But don’t stop there. WHAT HAS BEEN WON THROUGH PRAYER IS ONLY KEPT THROUGH PRAYER. Paul said in (GAL 4:19) “I travail in birth AGAIN until Christ be formed in you.”

c) (PSA 122:6) Says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” They already have peace, but that doesn’t matter. We need to pray that they will continue to have peace.

(i) Back to my point (EPH 6:16) says, “Above all, taking the shield of faith.”

d) One of the main ways needed to keep weapons that are forming against us from prospering is to have the shield of faith.

e) You have to put your faith in the greater One.

3) Definition of faith PRO 3:5-6. (The word "ACKNOWLEDGE" literally means "TO KNOW or LEARN TO KNOW."

B) JOSHUA 5:13-6:2.

1) I like that, in verse 2 the Lord is getting Joshua in faith; he said, “See I have given into thine hand Jericho.”

2) This is the same city that the children of Israel would have had to fight 40 years before, but at that time, they thought they would be defeated.

a) This city had giant walls. It looked hopeless, but GOD is Greater.

b) GOD is greater than giant walls, GOD is greater then Jericho.

3) JOSHUA 6:20 God is greater.

a) What are your giant walls? What looks hopeless in your life? What looks discouraging or disappointing? For victory to come you have to trust Him completely.

(i) Unfortunately, to often we have to reach the bottom of the barrel before we’ll trust God.

(a) It doesn’t have to be that way. You can learn to trust Him now before you reach the bottom and rise up to new levels of victory.

(ii) But there are times that we try to trust Him, but we keep worrying about what’s going to happen.

(iii) (1PET 5:7) Says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” It's the Amplified Translation that says, “Casting all your care ONCE AND FOR ALL, upon him.”

(iv) You don’t have to reach the bottom, but let’s start trusting Him totally.

II) For David his GOD had to be greater. 1st Samuel 17:4-7.

A) This was some big guy, about feet tall. I don't know how big David was, but he needed a God who was greater.

1) Look at verse 8-11. Even Saul, who was one of the greatest men in all of Israel, was in fear of this giant.

2) Look at V. 32-33 David had a number of things against him, 1st his brothers were putting him down in (V. 28), and in (V. 33) Saul said he was a youth, Saul didn’t think he can do it, he even had to fight the negative words of Saul.

a) Saul said, "Thou art not able to go against this Philistine."

B) Look at verse 38-39.

1) David didn’t want to use Saul’s armor because he did not want to go in his own strength, or rely on someone else’s strength.

a) LOOK at V. 40

b) David knew that he couldn’t do it in his own strength. It had to be the Lord.

2) LOOK at what David said back in 1 Samuel 17:26. David knew something about his God.

a) He knew that his GOD was greater.

b) V. 45-47

3) Maybe there’s a giant in your life. YOU HAVE TO FACE YOUR GIANT HEAD ON. If you run from it or hide from it, it will never go away.

a) You need to go to your giant, your problem, and speak to it.

b) Say the same thing that David did. “I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle {is} the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.”

4) That’s exactly what David did and look what happened. V. 49.

a) God is greater. He’s greater than walls; He’s greater than Jericho, and he’s greater than the giants.

III) For the 3 Israelites, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, GOD was greater.

A) Daniel 3:24-26

B) GOD was greater than the fiery furnace.

IV) For Moses, GOD was greater than the Egyptian army and the Red Sea. (EX 14:9‑12) (EX. 14:21‑27) (Song “Fear not” Jesus said “Fear not, be of good cheer, I am with thee.”)

A) For Noah, GOD was greater than the FLOOD. (GEN 6:17‑18)

B) For Daniel, GOD was greater than LIONS. (DAN 6:22) Maybe you feel like your going to be devoured.

C) For Paul and Silas, GOD was greater than CHAINS and PRISON DOORS. (ACTS 16:18‑24) (ACTS 16:26)

D) For Bartimaeus, JESUS was greater than BLINDNESS. (MARK 10:52) Maybe you feel like you’re in darkness and don’t have any light or revelation, but Jesus is greater, He’s the light of the world.

E) For the woman caught in adultery, JESUS was greater than her SINS. (JOHN 8:11) Greater than sins we’ve committed, past or present.

F) For the man that lived at the tombs, also known as the demoniac, JESUS was greater than the DEMONS. (MARK 5:8-13)

G) For the Leper, JESUS was greater than LEPROSY. (Matt 8:3)

H) For the disciples, JESUS was greater than the STORM. (MAT 8:26)

I) For Lazarus, JESUS was greater than DEATH. (JOHN 11:43‑44)

V) FOR YOU JESUS IS GREATER THAN YOUR JERICHO, YOUR WALLS, GOLIATH, GIANTS, FIERY FURNACE, GREATER THAN EGYPTIAN ARMIES, RED SEA, FLOODS, LIONS, BLINDNESS, SIN, DEMONS, LEPROSY, STORMS, greater than sickness and DEATH.

A) FOR YOU JESUS IS GREATER THAN The DEVIL and EVERYTHING HE HAS!
