Easter this weekend

So this weekend is easter,
- What do you guys think of when you think of Easter?

We all make mistakes

- When it comes with our walk with God we all make mistakes.
I know I have made plenty of mistakes in my walk with Jesus.
When we make those mistakes It can be easy to beat our selfs up.
Even question our faith or our commitment to God.
Maybe its a sin you have been dealing with in your life for a long time and said im not doing that again.
Or maybe its something you told yourself you would never do.
Or maybe you have been walking away from God for a while and arn’t sure how to turn back.

Peter

Well the night of the First Lord supper, When Jesus broke the bread and passed around the wine.
He told Peter, that Peter would deni him and Peter was like no not me.
Matthew 26:
Matthew 26:31–35 CSB
31 Then Jesus said to them, “Tonight all of you will fall away because of me, for it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered. 32 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.” 33 Peter told him, “Even if everyone falls away because of you, I will never fall away.” 34 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to him, “tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” 35 “Even if I have to die with you,” Peter told him, “I will never deny you,” and all the disciples said the same thing.
Peter was so admit, he even said he would die with Jesus before he would deny him!!!
But later on we see something else.
It’s not bad to work hard and to search out God and try to do our best for him. But
Matthew 26:69–74 CSB
69 Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A servant girl approached him and said, “You were with Jesus the Galilean too.” 70 But he denied it in front of everyone: “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” 71 When he had gone out to the gateway, another woman saw him and told those who were there, “This man was with Jesus the Nazarene!” 72 And again he denied it with an oath: “I don’t know the man!” 73 After a little while those standing there approached and said to Peter, “You really are one of them, since even your accent gives you away.” 74 Then he started to curse and to swear with an oath, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately a rooster crowed,
Matthew 26:69-
How do you think Peter felt at this time?
Well the bible says.
Matthew 26:
Matthew 26:75 CSB
75 and Peter remembered the words Jesus had spoken, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.
I know when I feel like I let Jesus down. Or i fell backwards in my walk. It shakes me at times.
There are other times my mind, like I can’t do this. No matter how hard I try i fail. I know I don’t mean to make mistakes but I keep doing them.
I know how discouraging it can be!
But thats when I remember,
Jesus went to the cross. He bore a beating, he carried a cross up.
He was hung on that cross for my failers. my sin.
He was spit on, he was mocked and crucified as a criminal although he did nothing wrong.
He did all of this for me!
He did this for you as well.
He died on that Cross.
He was buried in a tome for you and I!!!
Ephesians 2:8–9 CSB
8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—9 not from works, so that no one can boast.
Ephesians 2:9 CSB
9 not from works, so that no one can boast.
We are all human guys we are going to make mistakes. that is why Jesus had to come and die on the cross for you and I. He new none of us could do it on our own.

Walking down the road Analogy.

If we make mistakes, he just wants us to look to him and ask for forgivness. he will dust us off and help us keep walking the walk. not just talking the talk.
Pray.
