THE PASSOVER!!

"These are your instructions for eating this meal: Be fully dressed, wear your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand. Eat the meal with urgency, for this is the LORD's Passover.
On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn son and firstborn male animal in the land of Egypt. I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt, for I am the LORD!
But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt.
"This is a day to remember. Each year, from generation to generation, you must celebrate it as a special festival to the LORD. This is a law for all time.
INTRODUCTION
Well Good evening Southpointe!! We are going to talk tonight about The Passover.
Here in records the last of the ten plagues. This plagues was the death of the firstborn. But I want you to go to the announcement in Exodus 11.
Moses had announced to Pharaoh, "This is what the LORD says: At midnight tonight I will pass through the heart of Egypt.
All the firstborn sons will die in every family in Egypt, from the oldest son of Pharaoh, who sits on his throne, to the oldest son of his lowliest servant girl who grinds the flour. Even the firstborn of all the livestock will die.
Then a loud wail will rise throughout the land of Egypt, a wail like no one has heard before or will ever hear again.
But among the Israelites it will be so peaceful that not even a dog will bark. Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between the Egyptians and the Israelites.
There is something that I want to look at and then I want to know if you see this:
Look how the Lord make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel. Look at Verse 5.
All the firstborn sons will die in every family in Egypt, from the oldest son of Pharaoh, who sits on his throne, to the oldest son of his lowliest servant girl who grinds the flour. Even the firstborn of all the livestock will die.
It is not all the firstborn of the land of Egypt shall die, but it is all the firstborn in the land of Egypt.
Now I believe that this is a big deal, If I am than tell me so. But Egypt is a symbolism of the world, which is being in sin.
So it is not dealing with be of the world but being in the world.
I may be of this world but I am not in the world. In others world I am a partaker of this world.
What separate me from the world, is the blood of Jesus.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
This remind me of what Apostle Paul talks about in:
Now we know that God had purposed to redeem Israel out of Egypt, but He would do so only on a righteous basis.
Because Holiness can never ignore sin, no matter where it is found.
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
God didn ‘t spared the angels that sinned.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
God didn’t spared His own Son, who knew not sin but became sin.
When you look at this there is a big problem with Israel. Because they were not sin free.
I took a solemn oath that day that I would bring them out of Egypt to a land I had discovered and explored for them—a good land, a land flowing with milk and honey, the best of all lands anywhere.
Then I said to them, 'Each of you, get rid of the vile images you are so obsessed with. Do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt, for I am the LORD your God.'
"But they rebelled against Me and would not listen. They did not get rid of the vile images they were obsessed with, or forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I threatened to pour out My fury on them to satisfy My anger while they were still in Egypt.
But I didn't do it, for I acted to protect the honor of My name. I would not allow shame to be brought on My name among the surrounding nations who saw Me reveal Myself by bringing the Israelites out of Egypt.
So I brought them out of Egypt and led them into the wilderness.
There I gave them My decrees and regulations so they could find life by keeping them.
So Israel was in sin themselves, but the grace of God!
God's law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God's wonderful grace became more abundant.
A sacrifice had to be made.
A sacrifice had to be made.
The Passover Lamb!!
This is a means of substitute> The Israelites were guilt of sin and sentence of death sure have been upon them. But the blood of the lamb being applied to the door post was their saving grace.
The whole value of the blood of the Passover lamb lay in its being a type of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Get rid of the old "yeast" by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.
So let us celebrate the festival, not with the old bread of wickedness and evil, but with the new bread of sincerity and truth.
Now let’s get back to
"These are your instructions for eating this meal: Be fully dressed, wear your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand. Eat the meal with urgency, for this is the LORD's Passover.
This is what I want you to see: The Lord’s Passover.
I want us to go back to this verse later on Friday at our Good Friday service but I want to mention a few things really quick>
In , we are dealings with many people and them making sacrifices, the Priests and the whole families would go pick out a lamb and the lamb had to be without spot perfect.
But this is what I notice in chapter 12, never is the Lamb used in a plural sense. Singular go study it yourselves.
John the Baptist said this:
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
2. Lamb
Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
This is the process that take place in a person.
