We’re going to continue on the subject of healing, but really the things that I bring out in this message also goes for all of God’s promises. Not only does God want you healed, He wants you prosperous, he wants you to have a sound mind, He wants you to be free from Satan’s control, He wants you to be filled with JOY.

     I. Look at MARK 16:15-18

              A. Jesus has given us His Name to use, and there’s Power in that name.

                        1. According to (JOHN 15:16) Jesus is saying, “If you ask the Father in My Name, I will endorse that petition, and the Father will give you anything I have endorsed.”

II. JOHN 11:41 (This is talking about Lazarus)

              A. We know that the Father always hears Jesus, and when we pray in Jesus’ Name, it’s as though Jesus himself were doing the praying.

                        1. If you need healing, you can ask the Father for it, in Jesus’ Name, believe that He hears you, and you will find your sickness leave.

                                  a. WHY?

                        2. 1JOHN 5:14-15

                                  a. It’s yours. You have a right to it.

                                  b. Ask him for it and receive your health, in the Name of Jesus.

                                  c. (JOH 16:23-24) Says, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give {it} you. (24) Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” (KJV)

                        3. If you need healing, you can ask the Father for it, in the Name of Jesus, and you shall receive your healing, so that your joy may be full.

                                  a. Peter took Jesus at His Word, and said to the lame man, In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

                                  b. THAT NAME HAS NEVER LOST ITS POWER.

              B. People are saved through that NAME.

                        1. (ACT 4:12) Says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

                        2. You can pray and make your petitions to the Father in that NAME.

                        3. In that NAME the lame, impotent, and helpless were healed and made to walk again.

                        4. Jesus said, In (MAR 16:17), “In my NAME shall they cast out devils.”

                                  a. Paul proved that, Paul said to an evil spirit, In (ACT 16:18), “I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.” (KJV)

              C. What power that NAME has for the Church.

                        1. According to (COL 3:17), we’re taught: “Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, {do} all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

                        2. In (EPH 5:20) It says, “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

                                  a. We are to be giving thanks for all things in the name Jesus.

                        3. In (HEB 13:15) we’re told to offer the sacrifice of praise to his name. (KJV)

                        4. In (JAMES 5:14) We’re instructed to anoint the sick with oil in the name of the Lord: (KJV)

III. There is power in that name, but how do we get the power that is in that name to work in our lives?

              A. ACTS 19:13-16

                        1. These 7 sons of Sceva were trying to use the name of Jesus, but it wasn’t working for them.

                                  a. What were they doing wrong?

                        2. There were doing 1 of 2 things wrong, maybe both.

                                  a. 1st they may not have been saved. In (V 13) it says that they wereExorcists” In this time “Exorcistsused spells to get rid of evil spirits. Not something used in Christianity.

                                           i. Also the evil spirits knew Jesus and they knew Paul, but they didn’t know them.

ii. If they were Christians, the evil spirits would have known the power that was behind their words.

                        3. The 2nd thing that they did wrong was that they were just trying the name of Jesus.

              B. (Hebrews 11:6) “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

                        1. HEB 6:12

                                  a. Casting out evil spirits are 1 of the promises that we have been given in (MARK 16). (We already read it)

                        2. Look at ACTS 3:1-16

                                  a. Notice V 16a again.

                                  b. It’s not just the name, but it’s the NAME and faith in that name. Faith in the name of Jesus.

                        5. Look at 1JOHN 3:23

                        6. THE NAME of JESUS touches every phase of the Christian life and it will never lose it’s power.
