Transcript
1 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”
8 And they remembered His words. 9 Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.
He Has Risen
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Many times we Focus on How God can forgive us, But God can and will do so much more that just the forgiveness of Sin
Forgiveness of Sin is the Key of our relationship in Him but its just the beginning we are to be new creations in Him
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
We have excused our sin by saying well no one is perfect only Jesus so whats the point, Dont look at me dont focus on me he will forgive me
By doing this we have not only refused His command
16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
we say we love him by words but in deeds testify something different
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
We find ourselves worshiping the Lord our God by our lips but far from our hearts
13 Therefore the Lord said:
“Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths
And honor Me with their lips,
But have removed their hearts far from Me,
And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
You have been called out of death and into Life just as Christ Rose from the Grave we have been given power over sin because he has forgiven us and breathed life into us. So that we are to become in a likeness of Christ a new creation representing Him in all that we do in how we act how we speak how we live our lives. Not to justify our sins by saying well all Sin but to live
A honorable life one that is worthy of the Grace of the Mercy that has been bestowed upon you.
We all get tempted thats the plan of Satan he tempted even Christ, What do you do with the temptations
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
you must take captive and bring it into obedience of God this is the War against the flesh with the spirit
Many of you have been letting the flesh win the battle justifying it all the way like it just all ok and you wonder why God doesn't seem to hear you why the blessings of God seem so elusive why the peace the hop the Joy seem unattainable you have justified a Holy life right out of your very existence because is so counter cultural it goes against what every one else is doing
But he says take captive those thoughts bring them into captivity
you got like 10 seconds from the time your tempted to act or the flesh will win. Maybe at the store a pretty girl walks by or for you ladies a handsome man that could lift a truck walks by you got 10 seconds maybe less 1 st look is not what gets you its the second
After the 1st look goes your mind you think oh wow are they good looking now what are you going to do look again go around the isle get a better look from the front or from behind? what are you going to do?
Take captive every thought bring it into obedience to Christ
Replace the thought
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Christ came to Die for you he paid the price he bled for you to forgive you but also to change you to transform you
Least we take this for granted and take his death his payment for your sins lightly
we take captive those thoughts, Replace them, when tempted this is what I do everyone close your eyes
Using all your fantasy powers the same ones used for any kind of temptation for power, for control, sexual, drugs you name it using that same ability focus replace those thought focus every eye close focus
Remember Jesus standing in the courtyard as the roman solders pulling him around spitting in his face mocking him pulling the hair from his beard taunting him about being a king about being the son of God
Focus
Eyes closed now they they him to a pole they get their wips their canes their cat tails the Crown of Thorns digging in his head
Keep focusing now imagine every lash every strike the flesh being torn from his body the blood being spilt in the court yard the flinching of His eyes in pain yet he did not cave for you he stood firm being brought before the crowd The crowd yelled Nail him to the Cross
4 Pilate then went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.”
5 Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, “Behold the Man!”
6 Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!”
Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.”
7 The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God.”
8 Therefore, when Pilate heard that saying, he was the more afraid, 9 and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, “Where are You from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.
10 Then Pilate said to Him, “Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?”
11 Jesus answered, “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”
12 From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you let this Man go, you are not Caesar’s friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.”
Image as they tied his hands and feet to the cross imagine the first strike of the nail as it pierced his flesh imagine his groaning in pain that he endured for you imagine as they raised the cross and it fell into its hole the jarring of the nails of the thorns in his head
At Any moment he could have called upon a army of Angels to rescue him but he endured for you now imagine him hanging there as he took his final breathe and for you he released his spirit saying it is finished
He did this for you not only did he Die but he proved his authority over life and death as he had raised Lazarus he also Raised himself
18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”
Now imagine the All mighty God did this for you in that moment of temptation replace your thought by the renewing of your mind bringing it in to conformity with Christ imagine what he did in great detail what room does that leave for that temptation to grown after that.
You have been called out of the world not to remain in it
I have a great hope I have a hope for a better tomorrow a better people
I have a hope as we stand here today remembering the resurrection of our Lord jesus we would too see the resurrection of the Church that we would not be conformed by the world but by that of Jesus our Christ. I know there is fear that is abounding but this is a distraction from the enemy I know that perfect love casts out all fear, So i am hopeful that we all would be humbled before a Almighty God that STILL HAS THE POWER TO CHANGE LIVES!
STILL HAS THE POWER TO GRAB OUR ATTENTION !
I HAVE A HOPE THAT WE AS HIS PEOPLE WILL SEE THE BLESSINGS THROUGH THIS SITUATION, I HAVE A HOPE THAT WE WILL EMERGE A STRONGER AND MORE FAITHFUL PEOPLE A BETTER PEOPLE ONE WHO TRULY LOVES THEIR NEIGHBOR AS THEMSELVES NOT ONLY IN WORDS BUT IN DEEDS. I PRAY THAT THROUGH THESE DIFFICULT TIMES WE WOULD BE SINCERE WITH OUR GOD AS HE IS WHAT SUSTAINS US AND GIVE HIM THANKS IN ALL THINGS EVEN OUR DAILY BREAD, I HAVE A HOPE THAT THE FIGHTING THE DIVISION ION AMERICA WILL BE PUT TO REST AND THROUGH THIS ADVERSITY CHRIST OUR LORD WOULD RISE AGAIN IN HIS PEOPLE THAT WE WOULD BE THE TRUE AMBASSADORS OF HIS KINGDOM REPRESENTING HIM IN EVERYTHING WE DO. I HAVE A HOPE THAT THESE ARE NOT OUR LAST DAYS BUT AS CHRIST HAS RISEN WE TO SHALL RISE. THAT TOMORROW IS THE FIRST DAY NOT OUR LAST OF HOW WE WILL LIVE OUR LIVES THAT CHRIST WOULD BE OUR FOCUS OUR FOUNDATION AS A PEOPLE THAT THE HATE WOULD BE REPLACED WITH LOVE THAT THE DIVISION WOULD BE REPLACED WITH UNITY , I HAVE A HOPE THAT TODAY WE WILL LET OUR SELVES DIE TO CHRIST STRIPPING ALL PRIDE AND SELFISHNESS SO THAT HE WHO ROSE FROM THE GRAVE WOULD RISE UP IN US, CONFORMING US TO THE IMAGE OF HIMSELF
THE DEVIL IS AT WORK THERE IS NO DOUBT BUT GOD IS GREATER WE SERVE A LIVONG GOD THE DEVIL COULDNT KILL HIM THE GRAVE COULDNT HOLD HIM HE IS THE ALMIGHTY GOD!
WHAT WILL YOU DO WILL YOU CONFORM TO THE WORLD OR SURRENDER TO THE lORD THE kING OF kINGS AND ALLOW HIIM TO LIVE THROUGH YOU.
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
