We are in the 6th week of the Corona Virus Lockdown and I know many of you are growing weary of the Quarantining, the isolating, from not being to go be with friends or even family, from being able to go eat out…
Paul may have been feeling a little weary as he considered how hard he worked to spread the Gospel and build up the church. He had been beaten, shipwrecked, stoned and left for dead… He had a tough time. Like Paul, we are in a tough time of our lives. We are fighting an enemy we cannot see, one that is very contagious and deadly … and just doesn’t seem to want to go away.
Paul wrote this…
Galatians 6:9 The Living Bible
9 And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up.
Paul said I know it’s difficult to walk the walk… to live for Christ when everyone else seems not only to not live for Christ, but to do their best to get you to NOT live for Christ.

In the middle to that, he said for them not to get tired of doing the right things. I believe he is telling us that today.

Don’t get tired of doing the right things

We need to keep doing the right things.

What are the right things?

1. Practice the measures our leaders are asking us to practice.

Romans 13:1–3 The Living Bible
1 Obey the government, for God is the one who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. 2 So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow. 3 For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don’t want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well.
Some of the right things are doing what our leaders have asked us to do. Physical distancing, hand washing, wear a mask when you go to the store, possibly change clothes when you get home…
As a church we will continue to practice this until our leadership says we can. This is not an attack on our religious freedom. Everything is basically shut down, not just churches.

3. Develop a daily routine

Develop a morning ritual
It’s easy during this time to let structure go. someone said that they now no excuses for not doing the things they always said they would do if they had time… but they still haven’t done them.
Your morning ritual should be the steps you take every day to get ready for the day…
It would include your dressing routine… exercise … QT (First 15)
Keep your work time in place
Normally work would come after that. Many of you are home either with un-employment or being paid to stay home. Use the time you would be at work to do projects at your house, to study anything that might help you at work. If you are working form home, treat this time as if you are at work.
Develop a night time ritual
The develop you night ritual. This includes the things you do to prepare yourself for sleep.
Control your thoughts
Control your thoughts… what you allow into your mind.
Philippians 4:8 NLT
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

4. Keep your weekly routine

Sunday’s go to church. Join us online. We are putting the services up as best we can at the same times as usual for you to be able to keep the structure you are used to.
Wednesdays - join us. We are keeping it short, but join us.
This is a good time to join a small group because you can do that from the comfort of your home on your phone, iPad or computer through zoom.
Your weekly routine should also include your daily bible reading, study, giving and worship.

5. If you keep doing the right things, you will reap a harvest of blessing.

What is the harvest???
The virus will be gone
You will not just survive the Stay at Home… you will thrive physically, mentally, and spiritually.
You will grow closer to the Lord
Don’t give up…
