Jesus tells us what happens after the great tribulation
Matthew 24:29–31 NKJV
29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Another sign: seven angels having the seven last plagues

John sees “those who have gotten the victory over the beast”
Rev. 7.14 - they are coming out of the great tribulation
Rev. 12.11 - they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb
Rev. 13.7 - the beast given authority to make war with the saints and to overcome them
Rev. 14.12-13 - blessed are the dead who die in the Lord…
They overcame by the blood of the Lamb
They overcame by the word of their testimony
They overcame by not loving their lives unto death

The seven bowls of wrath

First bowl - poured on the earth, men were struck with a severe and malignant sore
Second bowl - poured on the sea, and become blood
Third bowl - poured on the rivers and springs of ware, turning them into blood
Fourth bowl - poured on the sun, which scorches men with fire
Fifth bowl - poured on the beast, his kingdom is filled with darkness
Sixth bowl - poured on Euphrates river
the river was dried up, preparing the way for the kings of the east
3 unclean spirits come out of the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet;
armies of nations are gathered together in Armageddon
Seventh bowl - poured into the air
a loud voice is heard - “it is done!”
a great earthquake hits, destroying cities
islands disappear
great hail falls

The great harlot and the beast

The great harlot - Rev. 17.1-8
sits on many waters - Rev. 17.15; see Jeremiah 51.13
sits on the scarlet beast - Rev. 17.3
sits on 7 hills - Rev. 17.9
holds a golden cup full of abominations and the filth of her fornication
writing on forehead - mystery, Babylon the great, the Mother of harlots and of the abominations of the earth
drunk with the blood of martyrs
will be destroyed by the 10 horns
The beast -Rev. 17.8-18
described as “was, and is not”
seven heads
7 hills on which the woman sits
7 kings - 5 have fallen, 1 is, 1 is not yet
5 fallen - Assyria, Egypt, Babylon, Persia, Greece,
1 is - Rome
1 is not yet - Antichrist rule, for a short time (3 1/2 years)
the Beast is the 8th -
ten horns - 10 kings
will receive power with the beast
will destroy the woman
The "mystery” of the woman
Original Babylon - in Chaldea
sits on the Beast - Roman Church
sits upon many waters - America

Revelation 18

The fall of Babylon the great

Revelation 18.1-24
a loud voice declares - Babylon is fallen!
her sins - Rev. 8.3
all the nations have drunk of her wine of fornication
kings of the earth have committed fornication with her
merchants of the earth became rich through the abundance of her luxury
God’s people are called to come out of her
her judgment - Rev. 18.4-8
she is utterly burned with fire
people stand afar as she burns - Rev. 18.15-17
the world’s response - Rev. 18.9-16
kings will lament and weep over her destruction
merchants of the earth will mourn over her
her final destruction - Rev. 18.21
she will not be found anymore
