Why is he called son?

· Son can mean from the same Demographic linage, or ancestry, not necessarily household

· Someone who has held he same position, so you are following in their footsteps

· It can also mean predecessor

Nebuchadnezzar Kingship was very Glorious and under his leadership Babylon’s rule expanded

Belshazzar the Kingdom had been diminished

Belshazzar was living off the merit of others

A lack of reference & fear for the God of Israel
