Prosperity of the Lord # 5
We're going to continue our teaching on "The Prosperity of the Lord."
I) We've been ministering for the last few weeks on what has been holding up the body of Christ from receiving the prosperity of the Lord.
A) The answer to that was we must qualify. Before we're going to tap into the blessings of the Lord we must qualify.
1) But now that we qualify we are going to MULTIPLY.
a) But first of all our heavenly Father has to know that money won't destroy us. Money, in the wrong hands, can lead us away from God and lead us into destruction.
b) So before God can bless you, you have to qualify.
2) Let me say this before we get into the Word, "Yield what you have to God and he will multiply."
B) In (Deuteronomy 8:13) it says, "And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied."
1) Three times in this verse it refers to our goods being multiplied. If we would surrender our goods to God, then God can begin to multiply our finances.
2) Turn to Genesis chapter 8.
a) God's ways of doing things are by faith. In (Hebrews 11:6) it says, "Without faith it is impossible to please Him."
(i) So God's ways of doing things are first of all by faith.
3) But in (Genesis 8:22) we see another way the kingdom of God operates. Let's read it Genesis 8:22.
a) As long as the earth is still here SEEDTIME AND HARVEST shall not cease.
(i) There's no harvest without seedtime. That's God's way of doing things first of all by faith and then seedtime and harvest.
4) Now turn with me to Job 36.
a) Now this verse is also a qualifying verse. You have to qualify before you can enter into the blessings of the Lord.
(i) Well this verse tells us about qualifying, but also tells us about the blessings that belong to us.
b) Job 36:11.
(i) Notice it says "DAYS," not just one day but all your days.
(ii) The NIV translation says, "They will spend the rest of their days in prosperity."
c) But the verse right after that tells us what will happen if we don't obey the Lord. Job 36:12.
(i) Obeying not the Word of God can bring someone into bondage, destruction, poverty, and can even destroy you.
5) Isaiah 48:17.
a) We have to be taught to profit. You don't just slide into it. You don't just receive it because you're a godly man or woman.
b) You have to be taught the Word of God then you have to stand on that Word, expecting God to do what he says in the Word.
c) Psalms 35:27. (Favor; obey me, serve me, and that put my kingdom 1st, those that do what I tell them to do.)
(i) (Isaiah 1:19) says, "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land."
(ii) Notice the middle of (Psalms 35:27), "Let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified."
(iii) These are the servants of God and not only were they obedient to his voice and do what he says to do, but they also spent time in God's presence by worshipping Him and praising Him.
d) Notice the last portion of this verse, "Which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servants."
(i) There are 2 things there. 1st, If God has PLEASURE IN THE PROSPERITY of his servants, he has DISPLEASURE IN POVERTY.
(ii) And 2nd, If he has pleasure in the prosperity of his servants how much more pleasure will he have in the prosperity of his SONS and DAUGHTERS.
II) A want to look at now at the freedom in obeying God. Turn with me to Haggai 1:5-7.
A) We have to consider our ways. We have to obey and serve Him. If you're not a tither you've got a bag with holes in it because you're UNDER THE CURSE.
1) There is confidence in obeying God.
B) 2nd Kings 4:1-2.
1) He's asking her what kind of seed do you have that you can sow?
2) 2nd Kings 4:3-4.
a) So she followed the orders, she followed the Word of God and obeyed it.
b) That's the KEY TO SUCCESS right there. She obeyed the Word of God.
3) 2nd Kings 4:5.
a) She kept pouring and pouring and pouring. I'll tell you this when you get the hand of God on something it will be multiplied.
(i) She followed orders.
4) 2nd Kings 4:5-6a. (It came to pass.)
a) Notice that, "It came to pass."
(i) And it will come to pass for you that your debtors will no longer be hounded you and knocking at your door because ye shall be living by cash, if you obey the voice of the Lord.
5) Look again at 2nd Kings 4:6-7.
a) It came to pass that she was debt free.
b) Not only did he do it for this widow, but he'll do it for you. If you're obedient to the voice of the Lord and serve Him he will cancel your debt.
(i) Whatever God says, do it. If it's to give a dollar here or one thousand dollars do it.
(ii) It doesn't take a great deal of money to get out of debt. This widow woman came and gave all that she had and it was just a little oil. God used that oil to turn her whole situation around.
(iii) Why did it happen? God through his prophet got his hand on that oil through that woman's obedience and she did what God told her to do.
(iv) You don't have to struggle and figur it all out. All you have to do is listen to the voice of God and obey it and you'll be debt free, living in Jubilee.
c) Look at 2nd Kings 4:7. (LIVE)
(i) There must have been surplus. God doesn't just give you enough to get along he gives you more than enough.
C) Your giving is God's ticket to prosper you. Learn to put 1st things first. Go and do.
1) John 2:5. This is the verse that brought the widow woman out and this is the verse that'll bring you out.
a) Your head will rob you if you let it. You can't be led by your head. You have to be led by your heart and by the Holy Ghost. (Widow woman and turning the water into wine).
2) Let's read this passage John 2:5-7a.
a) When Jesus asked them to fill up the water pots, they did it exactly to what he said. John 2:7.
b) If you want the blessings of God it's so very simple, just do exactly what he says in his Word, and he'll bless you with more than enough and you'll have a very best.
