Working Out Your Faith
Working Out Your Faith
The trying of your faith is a type of workout. We workout our natural bodies to improve overall health, lose unnecessary weight and fat, build muscle, improve stamina with better breathing (which helps us go further than we did before), train our muscles to respond in a positive manner when faced with obstacles, and enable us to carry things that are heavy and weighs a lot when necessary. Sure there are those who workout for the looks or cosmetic reasons, but that is superficial reasoning. However, even that has some benefit because it builds confidence and allows there to be a possible audience for the individual.
Spiritually Healthy Child of God
Spiritually Healthy Child of God
The same is true of working out our spirit man when we are faced with divers temptations. God desires that we be in overall good health spiritually as well. Good health means everything working according to what it has been designed to do. Nothing functioning out of line with what God intended. When someone is unhealthy physically, their organs or body has been infected with either a disease or a malfunction. In either way, they are not functioning according to God’s ordained plan. Remember, when God created mankind, He did so out of Himself and made the first declaration over man by stating “and it was good.” This tells us that whatever God creates is going to be good in itself if it functions according to God’s plan and design.
Work it Off and Build You Up
Work it Off and Build You Up
Next, spiritual workout is necessary to lose unwanted weight and build muscle as well. Just like in natural terms, fat has little benefit. It weighs you down without providing strength and energy. Just because someone is gaining in weight doesn’t mean they are healthy. Everything growing isn’t good, sometimes what is growing is either swollen or fat; neither produces any good. Fat comes about when someone has been eating without much activity and eating the wrong thing. In other words, the body of Christ has been eating and eating and not active in what we do. In addition, we have been eating only the junk food-the good stuff, not the things we don’t want to eat that helps us to become healthy. We are like the little kid that only eats pizza. All we want is God is going to bless me, my house, my car; we don’t want to hear the standard of God, the holiness of God. What fat does is fool you into thinking you have been nourished but in actuality, you have been setup to be ineffective and immobile. Why? When a person has gotten overweight, any kind of movement takes them out of their comfort zone. Fat is uncomfortable with movement and prefers the individual to remain stationary because inactivity is comfortable. When God is calling some of us out of our comfort zone, He is trying to burn the fat and build the muscle. Trials cause you to move. The movement breaks down and burns fat and builds muscle. What muscle then does is burns fat even when you are not as mobile. Plus muscle gives you strength. Fat equals flesh. Muscle equals spirit. Remember the more my flesh is comfortable the more it grows.
Why Do I Need Strength?
Why Do I Need Strength?
It is not just so I can believe to get a bigger house, better career, better car. It is so your faith can work in the kingdom.
Misapplied Faith
Misapplied Faith
One of the tragedies of the Church is many of us have misapplied our faith. We have faith in things that does not produce the revelation of the Kingdom of God. We have faith in things that are a byproduct of our faithfulness in God
