Resurect
The death, burial, & resurrection of Jesus was for you. (2CO 5:21) “For He hath made Him {to be} sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Then Jesus said in (JOH 11:25) "I am the resurrection, and the life."
I. The Crucifixion & Resurrection of Jesus is a fact.
A. It was prophesied in (Isa 53 & in PSA 22). Even Jesus told of His Crucifixion & Resurrection in (MAT 20:17‑19)
B. Another important fact about the resurrection of Jesus is that His tomb was empty.
C. There are even eye witnesses of Jesus' Resurrection.
1. We already read (MATT 28) where Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene.
2. In (LUKE 24, JOHN 21, & in MARK 16) Jesus appeared to His disciples.
3. In (LUKE 24:13) Jesus appeared unto 2 men.
4. In (1CO 15:6) Jesus appeared unto over 500.
a. It is an important fact that Jesus is raised from the dead.
b. All of our Christianity hinges on that fact.
II. But what does it mean to us?
A. COL 2:12‑14
1. Through Jesus resurrection the greatest problem in our life is solved ‑‑ the sin problem.
2. HEB 2:14
a. It's because of Jesus' Resurrection that we don't have to face Hell, where it's torture & torment.
b. But we who have accepted Jesus as our Lord & Savior, we'll be ruling & reigning as kings.
i. (REV 1:18) Says, “I {am} he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” (KJV)
ii. No longer do we have to fear going to hell; no longer do we have to fear death. Jesus has already paid the price for our sin. He already went into Hell for us.
iii. ACTS 2:24‑32 Jesus paid the price so that we don't have to.
III. But I've got some more good news for you. Not only did Jesus die & was resurrected so that we could go to heaven, but He came, died, & was resurrected so that we could have the fullest of life now.
A. JOHN 10:10
1. Who is the thief? (The Devil) Some people don't think there is a Devil, but they believe there is a God & they believe in His Son.
a. We know those things are so because we have the Word of God.
b. It's the same Word of God that tells us there is a Devil.
c. We can't come up w/ our own ideas about what the Bible says. If we do that we are coming up w/ another man made tradition. We've got to stick w/ what the Bible says.
2. Back to JOHN 10:10 (read)
a. Jesus said that the reason why He came & went through all He did was to give us life & to give it to us more abundantly.
B. 1COR 15:57
1. You have the Victory through Jesus.
a. The victory has been given to you.
b. That means you have victory in every area of your life.
c. The moment you received Jesus, you also received absolute victory.
2. The Word of God is filled w/ promises guaranteeing God's help & providing for you.
a. As you begin to fill your mind w/ these promises, you will rise up & walk in the realm of victory.
b. (JOH 8:32) Says, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (KJV)
i. God's Word is the Truth & The knowledge of the Truth will set you free from the limitations of the old life.
ii. Your victory is not dependent upon educational degrees, bible school diplomas, or even how long you've been a Born‑again Christian.
c. Victory is yours because of what Jesus has done. He completed the work of redemption through His Suffering, His death, & His resurrection.
i. Remember what Jesus said on the cross, “It is finished.”
IV. Turn w/ me to one more scripture 2CO 2:14.
A. The word “triumph” in this V means “to conquer or (by Hebraism) to give victory: --(cause) to triumph (over).”
1. In other words “Christ always causes us to have victory.”
2. As you put your faith & trust in the Lord, He will always cause you to triumph.
a. ALL THROUGH HIS FINISHED WORK. HE'S ALIVE.
