26 It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
28 Let him sit alone in silence when it is laid on him;
29 let him put his mouth in the dust— there may yet be hope;
30 let him give his cheek to the one who strikes, and let him be filled with insults.
Did you ever hear someone say, “Are you just going to sit there and take this?” Often asked in FRUSTRATION of the FUTILITY of our ACTIONS (or beliefs)
Let’s Recall: It is good [Hebrew tob - pleasant, joyful agreeable] that one should wait quietly [Heb. duwmam - silent] for the salvation of the LORD.
Let’s Recall: It is good [Hebrew tob - pleasant, joyful agreeable] that one should wait quietly [Heb. duwmam - silent] for the salvation of the LORD.
It May be difficult, but we WAIT SILENTLY
Without Offensive Words
Without Revolutionary Words
Without Complaining Words
With Face to the Ground (Prostrate Position of Prayer)
With Exposed Cheek to the Insults of the Enemy (sound familiar)
39 But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also.
20 Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you.
21 For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.
22 He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.
23 He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.
