They show up at the tomb

The best news they could’ve heard was...

Matt 28: 5b-6a “There is nothing to fear here. I know you’re looking for Jesus, the One they nailed to the cross. He is not here. He was raised, just as he said. - Message

Why the best news? That was the line of hope!

I can imagine as they began to go back through there own timeline and reconcile them to the present…the closer they got to that sunday morning, the more their hope grew. The more they could dismiss the facts the more their hope grew.

That’s no different than you and I this morning.

What did Jesus do with the keys?

Ephesians 4:9–10 (NKJV) tells us he descended to hell vs. 10 He ascended

Revelation 1:18 NKJV

18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

What’s significant about keys?

Keys are a symbol of control.

Keys keep people in or out. If they do not have a key to a lock, they cannot enter or exit.

Keys grant the holder access to interiors and their contents

He has the "keys." He has authority over death and the place of the dead.

Why do so many people get excited
