Genesis 17:7 KJV 1900

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

I went thru last week , wondering, wanting.. looking for a sign from God .. This search wasnt because i have been praying and asking God to do something for me .. myself and I.

I believe that the body of christ has been praying.. When I say the body of Christ.. im talking about every believer..

when I say body of Christ .. im not talking about a certain.. denomination.. an affiliation.. . or… group..

im talking about every person that knows Jesus.. Knows that Jesus came into this world.. died and rose again…

imagine one day a week .. your body did not do what it was suppposed to … imagine waking up ..sliding to the edge of the bed and one of your legs… saying nope…

i deserve 4 more hours of sleep..

imagine our hands saying.. im tired of always being used… i want the feets job… i want to be able to just sit there.. stink.. and keep balance....

imagine the feet saying.. man you can have it… im tired of being sqeezed and being placed in some type of shoes… give me the ears job… all they do is sit there looking stupid...

imagine one day a week not being able to do what you were created to do.. simply because your body .. is acting crazy… because your body is not lining up with the word of God..

statistics show… that sunday mornings.. is the most divided time in the world.. the Lords day...

that day.. of the week that years ago .. you were not able to buy alcohol.. unitl someone got greedy...

that day of the week that.. we all knew… that you can party, drink and club all night ..but come 9:00 you better be in sunday school… or prayer service...

we knew that if we had to be at work that afternoon.. we had to press our way to church.. just to tell God thank you..

but somebody.. somewhere began saying.. preaching… its ok.. you dont have to press anymore… i know your still tired from being out all night.. . from laying up with some boy or girl…

i know you even have to work to provide for your family… go ahead and work that overtime…because guess what… God loves you.. and he knows your heart..

im reminded of a time when .. the only stores that were open on a sunday.. was the essential stores.... grocery stores.. some gas stations…

.so now in 2020 when we drive around on a monday , Tuesday. Wednesday , thursday or friday … and the only stores we see open are the essentail stores..

as believers .. the thought crosses our mind… that God is up to something..

II.. intertestamental period

in the word of God.. the good Book… the bible..400 years past … from Malachi to matthew...

from old testament to new testament…during this time… there was a transitition taking place…

at the close of Malachi.. the nation of Israel is in the land of Palestine…and there was a direct ancestory line of Priest to Aaron… there were no political schisms or factions among them.. they were not even divided into parties or groups..

however when we begin reading in Matthew..the atmosphere has shifted… Roman is now the dominant power on the Earth.. The center of power has shifted .. there is a King that sits on the throne by the name of Herod the Great and he is not a decendant of Jacob… but of Esau..

the sanctity of the priesthood is gone.. it has now turned into a political patronage…a spictical… a show..

the Isrealites split into three different groups .. with the most dominant and power hungry being.. the Pharisees and Sadducees....

during these 400 years.. the intertestamental period… the silent years.. God was up to something..

cmon say it with me “ God is up to something”

Genesis 17:7 KJV 1900

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

in our text we have one of 6 times in the old testament that God stated that .. declared ..promised ... that im going to be your God.. and you will be my people.. my sons and daughters..

in every statement there was a prerequisite that.. we must be willing and obedient..

just like when a child continue to act up.. or decides not to follow the rules of a particular household.. a parent allows tthat child to continue on for a while to see if they will... see … the err in their ways..

and during this time as we say… your digging yourself a dipper hole… now dont dig so far.. you cant come out..

suddenly the children of Isreal found themselves in place of bondage… the bible says in

Exodus 1:8 KJV 1900

8 Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.

and all of a sudden 400 years passed before they were rescued from Egpyt..

and the greatness of God was spread about the earth .. about how God delivered his people from Egypt.. so much so that

over in the book of Josua.. the 2nd chapter the harlet rahab said… we all fear because we heard what the Lord did.. when he brought you out of egyt..

IV. the price

for years the children of Isreal would find themselves in a place of sin.. in a place that want comfortable .. in a season when people wild out.. and did what they wanted to do with no remosre..

and they would always go to and make a sacrifice..a nd wait on the hand of God..

Somone say .. buisness as usual is no longer acceptable..

the bibles says..

Hebrews 10:6–7 KJV 1900

6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. 7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

in those 400 years.. like the song says.. im thinking of a master...

the Lord our God was working his will...

Galatians 4:4 KJV 1900

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

sombody say.. its time...

somebody shout Jesus..

jesus said.. i have come that you might have life..

i must be about my fathers business..

and my father business .. is all about being your God.. it is about loving.. unconditinally…

and jesus went to and fro teaching.. and making deciples.. laying the foundation.. of what was to come…

you see he didnt have time to scroll on social media..

time to sleep all day..

but he had work to do..

work that involeved you and me..

he was called wondeful..

mighty God… the prince of peace..

.. he went out healing and delivering..

but one day he was betrayed.. for a couple of dollars..

.

he was beat

humilitaed..

spit on..

rediculed..

.. and then he was stretched out an dhung on a tree....

his blood flowed from his body..

and with his last words he told the father

it is finished...

V1.. three days later..

he rose again with all power..

i came to tell you .. that busines as usaul is no longer acceptble
