Intro: Why Our Hope Is Unshakable?

Many men are looking for hope and confidence. Some are looking for something to inspire them, give them confidence for the future,
Some men have great confidence. They have great hope and prospect for their future.
Natural Source of Confidence
Information from the experts
Assurance in their abilities.
Past experiences.
Such hopes can’t be described as unshakable. We are always taking a gamble when we venture out with plans because we don’t know what the future holds.
Illustration: This current pandemic has shown that many of our hopes are very unshakable.
Our experts are often wrong
Our abilities are deficient
Our experience is often lacking.
Yet as Christians we have a living hope, an unshakable hope it’s the resurrection of Jesus!

Why Our Hope Is Unshakable

It’s Found Outside of Ourselves

It’s a hope found in God himself. It’s unshakable because he is unshakable.
Hebrews 1:10–12 ESV
10 And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands; 11 they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, 12 like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end.”
We are confident because it’s:
His mercy which saves us
His Resurrection which gives us life
His Kingdom we will inherit
His Power Will Preserve Us for it
As Christians we have a living hope, an unshakable hope it’s the resurrection of Jesus!
Yet there stands a source of hope that rises above the rest. It rises above the fickle hopelessness of this life and offers a true hope. A hope that remains unshakable! It’s the resurrection of Jesus Christ! On that Resurrection morning Hope dawned and has been shining brightly since that day.
You see the best of men with the brightest of abilities have all come to an end. My skills take me so far, but in the end it’s the same as the rest, I die!
Only Jesus has conquered the grave. Only he has risen to live and reign forevermore!
LIVING HOPE!

The Cause of Our Hope

The Great Mercy Of God

Mercy: Not Getting What I Deserve
Titus 3:5 ESV
5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

The Resurrection of Jesus

It’s Life Giving Power
A Demonstration of Power

4 and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
“Born Again, through”
It was the catylyst which secured your new birth.
The resurrection of Jesus has such life giving power that it is bringing men to spiritual life even today.
Ephesians 2:5–6 ESV
5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

The Content of Our Hope

A Preserved Inheritance

You have title deed to inherit God’s eternal kingdom. You’ve been born into the family of God. He has promised you an eternal kingdom.
Daniel 7:27 ESV
27 And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; his kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.’
It remains untarnished, undiminished. It doesn’t wear or diminish or fade. It remains untouched by corruption. It is reserved for you in heaven.
Death for a believer is entrance into his inheritance, the entering into his best life.

A Sure Salvation

Salvation= future deliverance.
Past: I have been saved.
Present: I am being saved.
Future: I will be saved.
How do we know that future salvation is secure?
We are being guarded by the power of God.

Our Constant Consolation

Our source of hope even in the midst of suffering!
1 Peter 1:13 ESV
13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
