Pro 8:20 “The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.”

Rom 8:14-16 (Turn)

Wuest, Rom 8:14-16, “For as many as are being constantly led by God’s Spirit, these are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery again with resulting fear, but you received the Spirit who places you as adult sons, by whom we cry out with deep emotion, Abba, [namely] Father. The Spirit himself is constantly bearing joint-testimony with our [human] spirit that we are God’s children, and since children, also heirs; on the one hand, heirs of God, on the other, joint-heirs with Christ, provided that we are suffering with Him in order that we also may be glorified together, for I have come to a reasoned conclusion that the sufferings of the present season are of no weight in comparison to the glory which is about to be revealed upon us.[1]

In Gen 1:26 it says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:”

And in Verse 27 it says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

In John 4:24Jesus said, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

But listen to it in the Wuest translation, “God as to His nature is spirit, and for those who are worshipping, it is necessary in the nature of the case to be worshipping in a spiritual sphere, and in the sphere of truth.”[2]

Jesus said in John 6:63, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

In 1 Thess. 5:23 Paul says, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

In Phil 1:23-24 “For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: 24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.”

And then in 2 Cor 4:16 it says, “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
