Overflow week one
3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
God always finishes what He starts if we don’t give up. So don’t give up!
“Complacency is the deadly enemy of spiritual progress. The contented soul is the stagnant soul.” -AW Tozer
What you allow to inform you, will inevitably transform you.
9 I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. 11 May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
9 And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight 10 to help you to determine what is best, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless, 11 having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.
Transformation comes from encountering and abiding in Jesus.
Transformation begins with love but is sustained with the spirit and with scripture.
8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Spiritual transformation into Christ-likeness in not going to happen unless we act... What transforms us is the will to obey Jesus Christ. -Dallas Willard
27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
