We’re going to pick up where we left off last week in our teaching on “The Blood and the Glory”, but before we do I need to go back in cover a few things we said last week. Last week’s tape, which is going into a tape series did not turn out. So, I need to cover a few things we said last week.

I) (Psalms 107:2) says, “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.”

A) (Galatians 3:13-14) tells us what we are redeemed from. It says, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: (14) That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

1) According to (Deuteronomy 28) the curse of the law is “POVERTY, SICKNESS, AND DEATH.”

(a) Not only are we redeemed from the curse, but we are also redeemed so that we can receive the blessings of Abraham. (Galatians 3:14).

(b) What are the blessings of Abraham? Prosperity, health, and justification.

(c) ©All this came through the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

(d) (1st Peter 1:18-19) says, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

(i) Our redemption and salvation did not come by silver and gold. It did not come by how much we put in the offering place it did not come by how good we are and it did not come by all our good works.

(ii) (Ephesians 2:8-9) says, “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

(iii) Salvation and justification comes through faith alone, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

B) Back in our opening verse (Psalms 107:2), which says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.”

1) We are to say something, we are to say that we are redeemed, but redeemed from what, “THE CURSE.” And HOW? BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

2) What are we to say? “I am redeemed from the curse by the blood of Jesus.”

(a) THIS IS PLEADING THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

II) The old-timers in Pentecost had such success in claiming, pleading, and applying the blood of Jesus. HOW DID THEY DO IT?

A) Well, there was a prerequisite common to all of them.

1) 1st, they have strong faith in the blood.

2) 2nd, they believed that they had the right to use the power in the blood by faith.

3) And 3rd, they recognize they needed to operate from a cleansed position.

B) (Romans 3:24-25). Says, “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood…”

1) We have redemption, which means REDEEMED FROM POVERTY, SICKNESS, AND SPIRITUAL DEATH THROUGH FAITH IN HIS BLOOD.

2) (Hebrews 11:28) says, “Through faith he (Moses) kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.”

(a) Here it says that Moses kept the Passover by faith, but it also says that he applied the blood by faith for divine protection.

3) (1st Peter 1:2) from the Amplified translation says, “Who were chosen and foreknown by God the Father and consecrated (sanctified, made holy) by the Spirit to be obedient to Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and to be sprinkled with [His] blood.”

(a) Notice that they were saved or sanctified by the Spirit to the obedience to Jesus Christ AND to be sprinkled with His blood.

(i) They knew exactly what the phrase “Sprinkling of the blood” meant.

(ii) The blood of an animal could not just be slain and that’s blood poured out. There has to be a sprinkling of the blood or it was of none affect.

(iii) In other words, the blood had to be applied to be effective, just as it had to be applied to the doorpost when Israel was still in Egypt.

(b) In (Exodus 24:8) Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you.”

C) In (Revelation12:11) it says, “And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of their testimony…”

1) Apply to blood by faith and sprinkle it anywhere there is evidence of pressure, tension or any kind of Satanic effort to overthrow the Will of God.

III) (1st Peter 5:8-9) says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9Whom resist steadfast in the faith…”

A) (James 4:7) says basically the same thing, “Resist the Devil and he will flee.”

1) When the devil comes in with his attacks, tests, and trials we can resist him by holding the blood of Jesus against him in faith until he flees and we see the victory.

2) Don’t give up. (Galatians 6:9) says, “Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faith not.”

(a) Use the blood of Jesus in every area that you have any authority in, like in your life, in the lives of your children; for employers, in the lives of their employees; for Pastors, in the lives of their flock, any stronghold of Satan can be destroyed by holding the blood of Jesus upon it.

3) Parents use the blood of Jesus against the demon of drugs or whatever and hold the blood of Jesus against that demonic activity until he flees.

(a) Rise up and say, “In the name of Jesus I hold the blood of Jesus against you demons of drugs or whatever. Jesus defeated you and now in his name I hold his blood against you and you have to flee.”

(b) Applied the blood in faith.

B) The old-timers did it to gain the victory and you can do it because it’s the Word of God.

IV) God’s Word COMMANDS us to overcome evil. (Romans 12:21).

A) God’s Word also COMMENDS those who overcome the wicked one. (1st John 2:13-14; 4:4; 5:4-5).

1) God’s Word gives us authority, weapons, and tells us exactly how to overcome.

2) And God’s Word promises eternal rewards for being overcomers.

(a) The promises to the overcomer in the beginning chapters of the book of Revelation are amazing.

(i) Let’s just look at one of them Revelation 3:21.

(b) And let’s look at one of the last ones Revelation 21:6-7.

3) So let’s be an overcomer. We overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of our testimony.

V) In the next few minutes, I just want to touch on THE GLORY AND THE OUTPOURING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

A) The blood of Jesus redeems us from the hand of the enemy and from the curse of the law.

1) God wants us to know the power of this truth and to begin to use the blood more than ever in these last days.

2) But there is a last day application of the blood of Jesus that God wants us to know. And it involves the glory. It involves what we are redeemed to.

(a) Galatians 3:13-14.

(i) Redeemed is the blood Word.

(ii) One of the most glorious parts of our redemption by the blood is “THAT WE MIGHT RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF THE SPIRIT.”

¨ Now that covers a vast area which I don’t have time to cover in this message or even in this series, but one area that I want to look at that this includes is “THE SPIRIT OF GLORY.”

¨ The Spirit of glory is to be revealed in the last days but the Blood plays a very important role in its manifestation among us.

B) Look at 1st Peter 4:14.

1) The Bible calls the Holy Spirit “The Spirit of Glory.”

(a) (Romans 8:11) tells us that Jesus was raised from the dead by the Spirit.

(b) And in (Romans 6:4) it says that, “Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father.”

(c) ©The manifestation of God’s glory in the Church will be a revelation of the Spirit of God in a degree the church has never known.

(d) IT WILL BE THE 3RD AND LAST GREAT OUTPOURING OF THE SPIRIT, WHICH THE BIBLE PROPHESIES.

(e) Next week will begin to look at these prophecies in the Word of God and see to some degree how great this outpouring is going to be. The world has never seen anything like it yet, but in the Word of God we can see what it will be like.

(f) You could say it like this; the Church is pregnant and it is about ready to give birth to the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit the earth is ever seen.

(i) But before that birth comes, labor has to take place; much pain, and travail and sighing and weeping in prayer, intercessory prayer crying out for the outpouring of God’s glory has to come first.

(ii) But I’ll tell you this even though prayer and intercessory prayer is tough work. Getting people together to come and pray is hard, but in these last days you’re going to see the Spirit of prayer and the burden to pray greater than ever before.

(iii) Just as when a woman is pregnant travail comes automatically whether she wants to do it or not. The Spirit of prayer is going to fall upon the Church whether we want to do it or not. And that prayer that travail is going to give birth to the greatest outpouring of God’s glory ever seen on this earth.
