Paul declares having a “
perfectly good conscience
.”
Acts 23:1
Before Jesus: Paul condemned disciples of Jesus, but did so with a clear conscience.
After Jesus: Paul upholds Christianity as the Way.
Ananias, the “high priest”, commands bystanders to “strike (Paul) on the mouth”.
Ananias believed Paul to speak lies or blasphemy.
