Contentment :Internal satisfaction which does not demand changes in external circumstances

Chad Brand et al., eds., “Contentment,” Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary (Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers, 2003), 335.
Ecc. 5:18-20

Here is what I have seen to be good: It is appropriate to eat, drink, and experience good in all the labor one does under the sun during the few days of his life God has given him, because that is his reward. 19 Furthermore, everyone to whom God has given riches and wealth, he has also allowed him to enjoy them, take his reward, and rejoice in his labor. This is a gift of God, 20 for he does not often consider the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with the joy of his heart.

Man’s wealth was achieved through hardship and sacrifice. But, he was never able to enjoy it
it was lost in a bad venture
never able to enjoy those riches or do anything worthwhile with them
left with family to provide for
We must remember that no earthly wealth will accompany us when we leave this world: Ecc. 5:15

As he came from his mother’s womb, so he will go again, naked as he came; he will take nothing for his efforts that he can carry in his hands.

We must embrace that wich God has placed in front of us, as that’s what God will allow us to fully rejoice in and enjoy: Ecc. 5:19

Furthermore, everyone to whom God has given riches and wealth, he has also allowed him to enjoy them, take his reward, and rejoice in his labor. This is a gift of God,

Those who embrace the contentment that God grants will not allow the darker realities of life overshadow that which God has provided: Ecc. 5:20

for he does not often consider the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with the joy of his heart.
