No Strings Attached - Part 1

Introduction

Think about this . . .

If our church today is not attracting the same kinds of people that Jesus attracted - then we are not preaching the same message that Jesus preached! If this is true than what the world hears us saying is something different from what the world heard Jesus say.

All too often the church is

appealing to those who ran from Jesus and

appalling to those who ran to Jesus

Often people walk away from the church, not because they are walking away from Jesus but because, in their opinion, they feel the church has walked away from Jesus. The statement has been made that Jesus would be denied membership in most American churches today! Is this true? Probably! He would be seen as too radical; too unconventional - after all, He hung out with sinners!

So, the question is . . . what kinds of people did Jesus attract?
