We’re going to continue teaching on the Anointing of God. As I’ve shared before John said in (1 John 2:20), “But ye have an unction from the Holy One.” The word “UNCTION” is actually the same Greek word for “ANOINTING.” So John is saying that you have an anointing from the Holy One. John goes on to say in (1 John 2:27) “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth (or dwells) in you.” You are anointed.

I) But for us to begin to flow in the anointing and for that anointing to increase, which brings victory, we have to pay the price.

A) There are some things that must be established in your life before you will experience the power of the anointing. I don’t have this in any order…

1) But the 1st 1 is, “YOU NEED TO BE SITTING UNDER THE ANOINTED TEACHING and PREACHING OF THE WORD OF GOD.”

(a) You have probably heard the phrase “Association brings assimilation.”

(i) That simply means, whatever you associate with will eventually become part of you.

(b) If you’re siting under the anointing, eventually and gradually you will begin to flow in the anointing in your life. It’s an anointing for victory and success.

2) But just coming to church a few times a year or even once a month is not enough.

(a) Look at HEB 10:25

(i) The NIV says, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25 NIV)

(ii) Encourage or Exhort them to do what?

(iii) Come to church.

(b) Let me read (HEB 10:25) to you from the AMP translation; it says, “Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing – warning, urging and encouraging – one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.”

(c) Warning, urging, and encouraging them to come to church, Why?

(i) When you’re not coming to church on a regular basis, you get out of God’s protective umbrella, and you’re not sitting under that anointing where there is power for victory. (Maybe you need victory in your marriage, family, children, job, body, mind, you name it. Coming to church is 1 very important step in walking in the power of God and His anointing).

(d) Notice the last part of that V, “And all the more faithfully as ye see the day approaching.”

(i) We are in the very last days before the Lord’s return; we should be at church every week and 2 or 3 times a week if possible.

B) The 2nd thing that I have listed here (that is needed in our lives in order to flow in the anointing) is for us to develop a PRAYER LIFE.

1) JUDE 20

(a) The word “Building” in the phrase “Building up yourselves” literally means, “to build upon a foundation.”

(i) Your foundation is your faith.

(b) The word building in this V also means “To build up, to edify, or to energize.”

(i) When you’re praying in the Holy Ghost you’re ENERGIZING your self.

(ii) You’re energizing yourself with the POWER and ANOINTING OF GOD.

C) The 3rd principal that has to be established in our lives in order to flow in the anointing is “TO HAVE A FRESH INFILLING OF THE SPIRIT EVERY DAY.”

1) When it comes to flowing in the anointing you have to fill up your spiritual tanks just as you would the gas tank in your car.

(a) If you go too long without refilling your car it’s going to stop.

(b) It’s the same with the anointing, if you don’t refill the anointing is going to stop.

2) Well how do you refill?

(a) EPH 5:18-20

(b) Everyday you need to spend some time with the Lord.

(i) Find some time where you can read the Word of God, spend some time in worship, praise, and in fellowship with the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

3) 2 COR 13:14

(a) The word “Communion” there is actually the Greek word “koinoniawhich denotesa close fellowship and sharing.”

(i) How much of the power and anointing of God do you want in your life? How much victory do you want?

(ii) The more you stay in His presenceWorshipping, praising, in His Word, and in fellowshipthe more anointing you’re going to walk in.

(b) Remember God is not weird and He doesn’t want you to be weird.

(i) So many times people have either heard me preach or someone else on the subject of spending time with the Father and they start doing it, but they get weird.

II) The 4th thing that I have listed here in order to flow or increase the flow of the anointing is to REPENT.

A) We should be quick to REPENT, but when I say REPENT I don’t mean to just say, “I’M SORRY.”

1) True repentance is a change of heart, a change of mind, and a change of direction.

(a) Unfortunately, many are sorry, but few are truly repenting and changing.

2) Turn to LUKE 18:10-14

(a) Here we see God’s attitude towards those who repent.

(i) The 1st man exalted himself and because of his pride he was abased or brought low.

(b) But the 2nd man who repented for his faults was justified.

(i) His humility and repentance caused him to be exalted.

(ii) When you truly have a repentant heart before God you place yourself in a place where God can use you, and that’s when you can flow in the anointing.

B) The 5th point that I want to cover today is “BEING LED BY THE HS.”

1) Turn to ROM 8:14

(a) (Galatians 5:18) Says, “But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.” KJV

2) We need to follow the leading and direction of the HS.

3) There are many times that God wants to use us, but we limit the power and the anointing from flowing because we didn’t listen to His leadings.

(a) If we want the anointing working in our lives we have to yield to the voice of the HS.

III) And # 6 or the 6th and final point today in order to flow in the anointing is CONSISTENCY.

A) MATT 24:45-46

1) We have been given a job to do by the Lord. When were fulfilling the things that we are to be doing then He says we are BLESSED.

(a) That means your needs are met and that you’re walking in the anointing of success.

(b) Jesus told the Church in (Revelation 2:5) “Repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” KJV

(i) I’ll tell you this, if the candlestick is removed, so is the anointing.

(ii) He wants us to be consistent in the work of the ministry.

2) Consistently doing the things of God is a key to breakthrough.

(a) Jesus said in (John 8:31-32) “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” KJV

(b) Notice that He says “Continue.”

(i) We need to continue doing what He’s given us to do and when we do we keep open the channel for the anointing to flow.
