A man who has friends must show himself friendly, and there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Jesus is a friend that is closer than a brother.
You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
Jesus is not your friend if you are a friend with the world.
This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
Jesus gave up his life for you.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
You are my friends if you do what I command.
If we follow Jesus’ commands we are his friend.
I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.
We are no longer slaves to sin because He is our friend.
