Recap

Last week we talked about God being a Mighty Fortress. A place of defense or security, that shields you from those you are battling . But what happens when God sends you out to the battle? A battle that you didn’t know was tied to your destiny. And every decision you made, every encounter, brought you closer to “that moment”.
Can you remember a time, a “particular moment” in your life where it seems things were going in slow motion? You can literally feel the intensity of your heart beating, inhaling and exhaling and you know that this is a moment like no other, and somehow you just know that you life will NEVER be the same after this? If you have, then you have a small glimpse of what young David felt, as he stood on the battlefield and faced Goliath of Gath. This. Was. His. MOMENT!!! But it wasn’t about the riches, no longer having to pay taxes, and marrying the King’s daughter that was his motivation… This “UNCIRCUMCISED PHILLISTINE” had the UNMITIGATED GALLto disrespect God!! That’s what was at stake for him!! But how did he get here??
The power of a “Moment”… can be the catalyst for a shift that changes the entire course of your life. Take a journey with me as we go through the pages of Holy Writ and see David’s story unfold in this morning’s message entitled: “Stand”
(Let us pray)

Saul: Saul ben-Kish came from a wealthy family. Tall, Handsome, no one was more handsome than he, stood head and shoulders above everyone. When the prophet Samuel anointed Saul, he gave him specific instructions where to go who he’d meet and even when the spirit of the Lord would rush upon him and he would prophesy. When he turned to leave Saul, 1 Samuel 10:8 said that God gave Saul a new heart. #totalpackage
Now the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, mand a harmful spirit from the Lord tormented him.
