“ O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
David begins by saying that the LORD has searched and known him. Then he goes on to describe the extent of God’s knowledge of him. But before we look at that I want us to notice what David is sayin in the first phrase of this psalm. H esays you have searched me and known me. This means that God doesnt just know these things about David because he knows everything. But rather he has searched him, God is interested in David and has purposely sought to know him. Ofcourse we know that God knows everything, he does not learn like us because he is all knowing, but the point David is making is that God is interested in him.
App- That is a wonderful thought isn’t it. In another Psalm David says What is man that you are mindful of him?
When we grasp even a small part of how great God is we are amazed at the fact that he cares and is interested in the likes of us.
Yet, the wonderful truth that David is touching on here is that God is interested in his people. He knows about them not simply because he is all knowing, but because he wants to know about them.
You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.
David describes God’s knowledge as covering the whole spectrum of his life. From his sitting down to his rising up. Every part of his life in known by God.

“ If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

“ My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
