30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
The Soul directly connected to your life source. Not your spirit but your soul. To Love your God with all your Soul is to love Him with every breath within you to love him with every beat of your heart. You notice in Deuteronomy the mind is left out there is no word in Hebrew that illustrates, it is often tied to the heart how we think and then act.
The first thing we can do is Seek first the Kingdom of God as Andrew mentioned last night if we do this everything else will fall into place Last night we talked about what it is to love your God with all of your heart many of you have really understood this and while you have held on to him intimately you may have clinged to him with all of your emotions loving him passionately or maybe you once did but that emotion has subsided. But many of you have neglected a very important part of your walk with Christ when loving your God with all of your Mind causing your growth in him to stagnate failing to grow in your relationship because you have not sought out the mind of Christ
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
You Cant love Jesus and not love His Word (RC Sproul)
7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
“Eat and drink!” he says to you,
But his heart is not with you.
We must be cautions what we think in our heart lest we fall into the trap of setting up idols before us.
9 “The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
We must be watchful what be fill our hearts and minds with.
To fail to know or try to understand the scripture is to fail to know the mind of Christ by doing so we fail Him who said
If you Love me you will Keep my Commandments, How do we understand what such a thing is meant if we fail to study to learn to love our God with all of our Minds with all of our Souls we ought to be desperate to know what the bible teaches not because our pastor has said it but because the Word of God has Spoken
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
To Love your God with all your mind is to Love His Word, Desiring to know Him better to understand him more fully to have that intimite relationship with him. You don't marry a Gal you just met you get to know them because you want to because you love them you want to know what they are like how they think. As the Church we are the bride of Christ He is our groom we should desire to know him intimately knowing His Word Desiring to understand it better. Never finding ourselves becoming board in our relationship With Him.
The Only Way you can be saturated with the thoughts of Christ is to Saturate yourself with the one book that is all about Him
5 But the Jews who were not persuaded, becoming envious, took some of the evil men from the marketplace, and gathering a mob, set all the city in an uproar and attacked the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. 6 But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, “These who have turned the world upside down have come here too. 7 Jason has harbored them, and these are all acting contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying there is another king—Jesus.” 8 And they troubled the crowd and the rulers of the city when they heard these things. 9 So when they had taken security from Jason and the rest, they let them go.
10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men. 13 But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds.
They had searched the scriptures day and night they desperately wanted to know the mind of God they had loved God with all of their minds
