SERIES INTRODUCTION
We are living in a world overrun by fear. The Corona virus dominates the news and has us locked away in our homes. Meanwhile with businesses closed or limited workers are being laid off or furloughed. People are afraid of getting sick, afraid of losing their job, afraid of losing their home. Where do we turn in the middle of this much fear?
365 times the Bible uses the words do not be afraid or fear not. That means you could read a different verse about overcoming fear everyday for a year. But these aren’t just unsupported directions. Repeatedly God tells us with a promise why we don’t have to be afraid. We are spending the next few weeks looking at these promises and they tell us we can have faith in a world of fear.
RECAP PREVIOUS WEEKS IN SERIES
Fear and faith work in many of the same areas of your life, but… you get to choose which has power.

We are looking at these promises of God to discover how to choose to empower faith and be freed from the power of fear

CONNECT THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE
Last week we learned that God gives us his presence, but I want to deepen your understanding of what that means. Have you ever experienced when someone is there, but not there?

PRIMARY SCRIPTURE
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
22 And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! 25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 26 If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. 30 For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
