Acts 2:36–41 NLT
“So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!” Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away—all who have been called by the Lord our God.” Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!” Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.
Pierced - the verb that is used here means to strike or prick violently, to stun
Repent

Peter’s answer was forthright. First they were to repent. This verb (metanoēsate) means “change your outlook,” or “have a change of heart; reverse the direction of your life.” This obviously results in a change of conduct, but the emphasis is on the mind or outlook. The Jews had rejected Jesus; now they were to trust in Him. Repentance was repeatedly part of the apostles’ message in Acts (v. 38; 3:19; 5:31; 8:22; 11:18; 13:24; 17:30; 19:4; 20:21; 26:20).

What do we have to repent from?
-When there is a truth From God from his voice in scripture, him speaking to our mind, or through others....and our life doesn’t line up with that truth.....we change to be in line with it to live under that truth.
DO NOT FEAR! Here is a way we can check ourselves in our current situation.
Philippians 4:6–7 NLT
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:15 NLT
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
1 John 4:18 NLT
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
Baptized in the Name of Jesus-
John the baptist had talked about this that he was baptizing with water but one would come who would baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
-Peter was baptized, dipped, covered, immersed in the presence of the Holy Spirit
We have a greater opportunity in these days with a simplified schedule to immerse ourselves in the presence of Jesus.
What is the message that is coming from our lives?
Are we being baptized daily by the Holy Spirit?
I want to give you a challenge to pray over 5 names ask the Lord who those 5 should be and listen to your thoughts for the names that come to mind.
-people who don’t attend Melwood
-people who don’t have a relationship with Jesus
This week call them and let them know they came to your mind this week and ask them how you can pray for them.
-Listen to what they say and pray for them everyday for a week.....then follow up with them and see how
