Notes:

scripture Acts 12
Tyrants come in all shapes, sizes and degrees of tyranee.
There is a cruel tyranism as well as a benevolant form
Tyrant:
A sovereign or other ruler who uses power opressivley or unjustly
Any person in position of authority who exersises power opressivley or dispotically
Tyranny:
Arbitrary (unrestrained) exersises of power dispotic abuse of authority
Government by ruler or small group of people who have unlimited power over the people in there country or state or use it unfairly or cruley. (truth is no man has unlimited power)
A tyrant is not always someone who is cruel and opressive - it is also someone who uses lawful authority unlawfully.
Today we observe alot of tyranny being demonstrated in our country amoungst govoners.
Constitution article 6 paragraph 2
“This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”
It doesn’t matter what the state constitution say if they are in contradiction to the country’s constitution.
Nor does it matter what laws the states pass if they are in contradiction to the countrys constitution…they would be null and void.
One may be lawfully elected and given lawful power, but when he uses that lawful power unlawfully then he becomes a tyrant. He is rulling according to his own dictates, his own will or desires and not according to law
Democracy vs Republic
Whats the difference?
Democracy referse to mob rule.
Republic - ruled by las
We are supposed to have a republic
Bejamin Franklin was asked after the convention, “what kind of government have you given us”…he replied “a republic if you can keep it.”
A tyrant is who gives to himself authority without having a right to it, and or, he/they have been given that authority and he/they turn around and us it unlawfully.
When Abraham Lincoln called for 75 thousand volunteers to invade and conquer the south, it was the Govenor of Missouri, Claiborne Jackson who responded to Abraham Lincoln saying this:
Sir: Your dispatch of the 15th instant, making a call on Missouri for four regiments of men for immediate service, has been received. There can be, I apprehend, no doubt that the men are intended to form a part of the President's army to make war upon the people of the seceded states. Your requisition, in my judgment, is illegal, unconstitutional, and revolutionary in its object, inhuman, and diabolical and cannot be complied with. Not one man will the State of Missouri furnish to carry on any unholy crusade.
Supreme Court Justice (1862-1877) David Davis
“The Constitution of the United States is a law for rulers and people, equally in war and in peace, and covers with the shield of its protection all classes of men, at all times, and under all circumstances. No doctrine, involving more pernicious consequences, was ever invented by the wit of man than that any of its provisions can be suspended during any of the great exigencies of government. Such a doctrine leads directly to anarchy or despotism, but the theory of necessity on which it is based is false; for the government, within the Constitution, has all the powers granted to it, which are necessary to preserve its existence; as has been happily proved by the result of the great effort to throw off its just authority.”
He is saying that no the constitution cannot be suspended for any reason. Pandemic or no pandemic. War or no war it does not matter.
Supreme Court Justice (1898-1980) William O. Douglas:
“Since when have we Americans been expected to bow submissively to authority and speak with awe and reverence to those who represent us? The constitutional theory is that we the people are the sovereigns, the state and federal officials only our agents. We who have the final word can speak softly or angrily. We can seek to challenge and annoy, as we need not stay docile and quiet” (colten vs kentucky 1972)
Montana State Representative John Fuller in reference to this current crisis:
We did not vote on the “shelter-in-place” dictum. We did not vote on the shut down of all “non-essential” businesses. Hysteria leads to a dismissal of the factual. And the factual analysis of this current “Wuhan flu” is that many of the policies enacted here in Montana are irrational and insulting. Does anyone believe that the “vulnerable” (such as this mid-seventies old man) are incapable of taking appropriate precautions on their own without the Governor destroying the livelihoods of all our fellow Montanans? Does anyone really expect now that a Governor has assumed the power to decide who is essential or not, that future Governors will not expand on such policies? Increasing dependence on government and passively accepting that some “elite” somewhere knows best about our welfare is much more dangerous than the Wuhan virus.
The natural desire to be “safe” often suppresses the need to be free. But abandoning one’s own responsibility to provide for their own safety will result in government tyranny. And you will still die.
Tyrant - One who rules without God
God says to rulers:
Psalm 75:5–7 KJV 1900
5 Lift not up your horn on high: Speak not with a stiff neck. 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, Nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another.
Daniel 2:20–21 NASB95PARA
20 Daniel said, “Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. 21 “It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding.
Romans 13 - There is no highter authority of God. So whatever authority anyone is in, they must be submissive to God.
Family - ministry education
Church - ministry grace
Civil Gov - ministry of justice
Romans 13:4 KJV 1900
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
minister - deacon - servant
revenger - exactor of righteousness
Romans 13:6 KJV 1900
6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
minister - liturgy - public worship
Civil rulers are deacons, extractor of righteousness and public worship.
Alabama State Constitution:
The sole object and only legitament end of government is to protect the citizen in the enjoyment of life, liberty and property and when the government assumes other functions, it is userpation and opression.
A tyrant does not fear God, nor have regard for man.
Proverbs 28:15 NASB95PARA
15 Like a roaring lion and a rushing bear Is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
“No matter how much I struggle and strive, I’ll never get out of this world alive.”
…Hank Williams, Sr. (1952)
Job 14:5 KJV 1900
5 Seeing his days are determined, The number of his months are with thee, Thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
Psalm 90:12 KJV 1900
12 So teach us to number our days, That we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Ecclesiastes 3:2 KJV 1900
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
James 4:13–15 KJV 1900
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
James 2:21–23 KJV 1900
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Romans 10:17 NASB95PARA
17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
James 2:18 NASB95PARA
18 But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
Ephesians 4:20–24 NASB95PARA
20 But you did not learn Christ in this way, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, 22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, 23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
