We’re living in an unprecedented time as we navigate the life-threatening and economy-shaking struggles we’re facing because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
So, believers, how do we make sense of this? What do we do with our questions to God and our questions of God? How do we find good news in a continual stream of bad news?
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
How does that fit into what we are going through!
We need to see the scripture in context
Jeremiah prophesied to the Israelites in the southern kingdom of Judah before they were taken captive in 586 BC by King Nebuchadnezzer of Babylon.
He told them they were going into captivity
6 Now I will give your countries to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, who is my servant. I have put everything, even the wild animals, under his control.
7 All the nations will serve him, his son, and his grandson until his time is up. Then many nations and great kings will conquer and rule over Babylon.
Wait God, you are going to take my life and turn it upside down?

He then tells them in
4 This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon:
5 “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.
6 Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease.
7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
Wait God, You are taking my lifestyle - exiling me and then you want me to settle down in this foreign place?
Yes, I’ve Got A future for you!

God’s plans of a hope and a future for His chosen people doesn’t match what our ideas for future looks like !.
I want things to go back to the way they use to be!
But God’s ways are so much higher than what our minds can grasp. His plan is always better! And it will include us being with him

When you remember who God is and what He’s done for you, then you walk in faith that if he did it once -he will do it again

3 For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods.

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
The Most High - He Is For Us
Where Are My Worshipers At? _ Where Are My Praisers ! Where are my People that know him to be the Most High
5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; Yes, our God is merciful.
The God of Mercy - He Is For Us
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
The Prince Of Peace - He Is For Us
3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.
The Healer - He Is For Us
17 Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
Our Unchanging Father - He is For Us
Yes, He’s Got A future for Us!
Yes, He’s Got A future for Us!
Listen, What you fill ourselves up with every day is important.
When we fill our minds with the truth from God’s Word, we’ll become so acquainted with it that when we’re faced with something that isn’t true, we’ll know.
When we worship God through song or praise Him while looking at His creation, it’ll build our spirits and will lift our focus from the daily trials we face.
When we walk through life with like-minded followers of Jesus, there’s built in encouragement for us in our experiences with them.
So,remember that God hasn’t given us a fearful mindset.
He’s given us one that contains love, power, and a sound mind!
God is our salvation and our fortress!
Because when we remember and remind ourselves of the truth every day, we’ll stand strong knowing that when God is for us, nothing can be against us.
