Restitution??
Restitution??
1 “If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and slaughters it or sells it, he shall restore five oxen for an ox and four sheep for a sheep.
2 If the thief is found breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt for his bloodshed.
3 If the sun has risen on him, there shall be guilt for his bloodshed. He should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
4 If the theft is certainly found alive in his hand, whether it is an ox or donkey or sheep, he shall restore double.
5 “If a man causes a field or vineyard to be grazed, and lets loose his animal, and it feeds in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field and the best of his own vineyard.
6 “If fire breaks out and catches in thorns, so that stacked grain, standing grain, or the field is consumed, he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.
This is a 2 part series. Today is part 1, next week will be a mother’s day message, and the following week will be part 2.
It is time to make things right with your neighbor. It is time to make things right with your spouse. It is time to make things right with children. It is time to make things right with your enemy.
14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
We need a restoration
Revival must start in the house of God. It must start with those who call themselves Christian.
Do you call yourself a Christian? Are you truly a Christian or in name only?
This is a very important question to ask. Because the answer will define you and define your relationships and interactions with other people.
John Bevere gives a great example in his book, “Killing Kryptonite”. Unfortunately, this is how many people who use the name “Christian”, look at their relationship with the Lord.
Justin and Angela have dating for over a year.
The Holy Spirit calls us into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Angela is beautiful and posses a magnificent personality. He is deeply in love with her and knows he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
Jesus Christ made the ultimate commitment
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Justin plans the perfect evening and at the right moment he gets down on one knee.
God planned the right time to send Jesus.
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
He opens the beautiful box and inside is an amazing diamond engagement ring.
The cross has become beautiful to us. It was used to reconcile us to back to God.
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
Angela covers her face as she is overcome with emotion. She exclaims, “Yes, Yes. I will marry you”.
We were so excited when we came to the cross. We wanted to run. We wanted to jump, laugh. and cry.
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
They have a beautiful storybook wedding. The honeymoon is full of planning what the future will be and love and adventure.
Right after we came to a salvation knowledge and made that covenant, we were zealous for the Lord. We walked with Him and absorbed all we could from the Bible to know more about the lover of our soul. We looked to the future when we would be face to face with our Saviour and Lord.
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Time passes and Justin finds Angela is more amazing than he thought. She is resourceful and an amazing cook.
Its amazing the changes God can make in our lives.
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
They settle into married life. She adds beautiful touches to their home. A few months later, Justin returns home from work and finds his wife, Angela, all made up and slipping into a beautiful outfit. He concludes she must have planned something special for them and offers to get dressed up as well.
Angela, a bit confused, responds, “Oh honey, I’m going out with Tony tonight. We’re going to get dinner, catch a movie, and check into the Fairmont Hotel. I should be back by midmorning.”
“Who’s Tony?!” Justin fires back.
“He’s my boyfriend from high school,” she replies.
“What! You can’t go out with him!”
“Why not?”
“Because we are married; we are committed to each other. We don’t date other people!” he says, stating what he assumes should be obvious.
“Hold on, honey!” Angela replies. “You are my favorite. I love you more than any of my old boyfriends, but you really can’t expect me to not see them any longer. I’ve been close with some of them for years, I still love them, and I want to enjoy time with them. What’s wrong with that?”

If you are just carrying the name of Christian and not owning and living it, today is your day.
2 For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
It is not too late. You can make restitution to God. There is no dollar amount or work you could do to make restitution. The only way is through reconciliation. Be reconciled to God. Enter into the covenant with Jesus Christ. Turn your back on those things that have been a barrier to you. Accept the free gift of salvation that is offered to you.
Acknowledge
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Beleive
31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
Confess
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
