Transcript
Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise,
and apply your heart to my knowledge,
for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you,
if all of them are ready on your lips.
That your trust may be in the Lord,
I have made them known to you today, even to you.
H: incline, apply , trust
E: seeking knowledge is an intentional act.
A: I need to seek knowledge, apply it , and trust in it.
R: help me to do these things.
My son, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad.
My inmost being will exult
when your lips speak what is right.

E: joy comes when children understand and live according to God’s wisdom
A: I need to teach my children the truth of God’s wisdom and Word.
R: help me to know and teach Your Word to my children
A wise man is full of strength,
and a man of knowledge enhances his might,
for by wise guidance you can wage your war,
and in abundance of counselors there is victory.
H: wise guidance = wise man; abundance of counselors = wise guidance
E: wisdom come through an abundance of counselors that are seeking wisdom.
A: I need an abundance of counselors that are seeking God’s wisdom in order to make wise choices.
R: I will seek to surround myself with men abs women who seek God and share with others.
If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat,
and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,
for you will heap burning coals on his head,
and the Lord will reward you.
H: give and reward
E: followers of God and His wisdom will seek the good of those who do wrong, but not at the expense of truth or when evil is done. Followers are called to give care but not give in.
A: need to learn how to show kindness without compromising truth or principles. Showing compassion does not mean having to condone wrong.
R: help me to show love and remain true
