Generosity - we find joy in it
We started with the heart - it is an attitude
Most precious commodity - time
Today talk about out talents
Romans 12:6–8 CSB
According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one’s faith; if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching; if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.
We all have something to offer
Romans 12:4–5 CSB
Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.
We all have something to offer
There is something we are all good at
THere is something we do that is needed
Given to give
Our talents are for others
Romans 12:3 CSB
For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one.
Given to give
The gifts we have are to further His kingdom not ours
They bring Him glory not us
Jesus is our example
Philippians 2:1–4 CSB
If then there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, make my joy complete by thinking the same way, having the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Talents are to be used
Romans 12:6–8 CSB
According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one’s faith; if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching; if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.
Talents are to be used
Use our talents to their fullness
In church
In our community
