Mark 10:46-52

·      What do you want me to do for you?

o  exactly the same question, but a selfish request

·      Bartimaeus given his chance

o  needed courage and determination

·      “What do you want me to do for you?”

o  do you want to give up begging?

§  livelihood

o  change the way you’ve lived all your life

§  get a job?

·      Rises to the challenge

o  “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me! I want to see!”

§  ‘…throwing his cloak aside…’

§  “…your faith has healed/saved you”

·      faith in Jesus is all we need to be healed and saved

·      Vulnerability

o  we need to be honest before Jesus about our needs
