Thank you Austin

As disciples were called to obey. Obeying isn't something that comes natural to me, I am kind of hard headed so doing what I am told can be a challenge. I’m sure that there are a few people that would agree with me on that.
I want to share with you a couple of instances in the Bible where Jesus gives us the guidance as to what our greatest callings are.
I am immediately drawn to Matthew 22 v36-40 Here we find that Jesus is being questioned by the pharisees , one of them was trying to trap Jesus and asked him the following-

36 “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”

37 Jesus replied, “ ‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

So we are called to do things, Jesus considered these things to be most important
Love God- with heart mind soul, it doesnt get more encompassing than that
We are to love our neighbors just as we do ourselves
We see these Great Commandments written in multiple other places in the Bible.
There we have the great commandment those 2 ideas encompass all aspects of our lives.
There was something else that Jesus called up the disciples to do, he told them to Go and make disciples
In chapter 28 of the book of Matthew we find the great commission We find Jesus with the 11 disciples...

18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The disciples are told to GO… not sit around but to GO and make disciples of all people baptizing them and teach them to obey all the commands Jesus gave them. He then reminds them that he is with them always.
being obedient is definitely not always easy, especially when we think we are setting the course for what is going to happen. Over the last three years my family and I have lived that out, especially when it comes to where are we going to live. God had his plan it was las vegas and it was one we would not have ever chosen. We are truly called to be obedient to what we are called to do.
