11 Ons noem hulle geseënd omdat hulle volhard het. Julle het gehoor van die volharding van Job en julle het gesien waarop die Here dit laat uitloop het. Die Here is immers ryk aan barmhartigheid en ontferming

James 5:11 (The Message)

11 What a gift life is to those who stay the course! You’ve heard, of course, of Job’s staying power, and you know how God brought it all together for him at the end. That’s because God cares, cares right down to the last detail.

Two frogs fell into a can of cream,

Or so I’ve heard it told.

The sides of the can were shiny and steep,

The cream was deep and cold.

“Oh, what’s the use?” croaked number one.

“Tis fate, no help’s around.

Good-bye, my friend!

Good-bye, sad world.”

And weeping still, he drowned.

But number two, of sterner stuff,

Dog-paddled in surprise.

The while he wiped his creamy face,

And dried his creamy eyes.

“I’ll swim awhile at least,” he said,

Or so I’ve heard he said;

“It really wouldn’t help the world,

If one more frog were dead.”

An hour or two he kicked and swam,

Not once he stopped to mutter,

But kicked and kicked and swam and kicked,

Then hopped out, via butter![1]

1. Die Here Is Immers Ryk Aan Barmhartigheid En Ontferming

Om in jou diepste wese geraak te word deur dit wat jy aanskou. Dit sê dat God ‘n groot hart en ingewande het. God het ‘n enorme kapasiteit vir meegevoel. God se hele innerlike word geraak daarom ontferm Hy hom

2. Julle Het Gehoor Van Die Volharding Van Job En Julle Het Gesien Waarop Die Here Dit Laat Uitloop Het.

Job se vriende was teen hom, hy is ‘n tweegesig wat God se oordeel verdien. Dit blyk dat selfs God teen hom is. Die Hemel het stil geraak. Hy kan nie die eksaminator vrae vra nie. Hy het ook nie beskik oor al die agtergrond inligting nie. Beide God en satan het hom geëer.

Daar is mense wat leer dat as die met jou goed gaan, weelde geniet en jy voorspoed geniet, jy ‘n geseënde van God is. As jy sukkel en swaarkry, arm en sieklik is, rus daar ‘n vloek op jou. Dit is gewoon nie waar nie.

Job was regverdig verklaar. Tog het hy swaar gekry en lyding ervaar.

Sy vriende se aantygings en beskuldigings was ongegrond. God het ‘n hoër doel met lyding as net die straf vir sonde. Herinner jou daaraan wat God begin het sal hy klaarmaak. Jy is geroep om te wen en te oorwin. Jy moet net volhou totdat jy God se doelwit bereik het.

Jy is geen robot wat vasgeval het in die kake van die noodlot nie. Jou storie pas in God se groot storie. Hy het ‘n plan met jou lewe. Dit maak ‘n verskil

3. Ons Noem Hulle Geseënd Omdat Hulle Volhard Het.

Jy sal ‘n geseënde wees, nie omdat alles net goed gaan nie, maar as jy volhard. So as jy in die room val hou aan skop totdat dit botter is.

Gebed

Here we are in your presence Lifting holy hands to You Here we are praising Jesus For the things He's brought us through. I don't have the words to tell You how I feel, I just don't know what I can say I'm not worthy to speak Your Holy Name, Yet You tell me You love me just the same. I never thought that it could be this way, And I never thought I'd be the one, But You found me dying in my sin. And You looked at me with love that took me in.
