Genesis 46:28 NKJV

28 Then he sent Judah before him to Joseph, to point out before him the way to Goshen. And they came to the land of Goshen.

Transition: But where did what Jacob was sending his praise to, come from?!?!

From the text, we can tell that it’s been a suburb of Egypt.

Genesis 47:6 NKJV

6 The land of Egypt is before you. Have your father and brothers dwell in the best of the land; let them dwell in the land of Goshen. And if you know any competent men among them, then make them chief herdsmen over my livestock.”

God’s Ghetto Is a Gift

Gen 20 - Out of fear Abraham offers Sarah to pharoah

Abraham concocted a plan

pharoah takes her as his own…literally est a covenant

But He entered into covenant with Abraham. Sarah was in covenant w Abraham.

God visits him and scares him and he sends S away and forgets to annul the marriage covenant.

Midrash: “textual interpretation” 3200 years old. 1200 BC

The Midrash says[7] that due to Pharaoh’s desire for Sarah; he wrote her a marriage contract, assigning to her wealth and possessions, as well as giving her as inheritance the land of Goshen. Pharaoh did that in an attempt to influence Sarah to leave everything and become his wife.

Synthesize it: God allows things happen before before you need what He’s going to release.

250-300 years earlier

Abraham didn’t need Goshen…Isaac didn’t need…Jacob had Joseph. Jospeh got to Egypt, and then God set up the land to activate the blessing that was already there w Egyptians living on it.

App: And if Goshen is a picture of the K and I’m in it, I can embrace the principle of the set up.

God’s Ghetto Comes with a Guarantee

Pharaoh’s intention was to have a closer connection with Sarah; but Sarah was not tempted and stayed faithful to Avraham. It turned out that Goshen did not contribute to any closeness, but on the contrary; because of Sarah it later became a symbol of keeping separate from the surrounding Gentiles.

When you keep what He wants you to keep, He’ll give you what you didn’t even care about keeping!

So, in this case, it is used as an adjective where white and Asian people can be just as "ghetto" as black people. Normally, this results from the poor living and upbringing conditions. "Ghetto" is a derogatory term used towards individuals who lack the standards of manners and ethics.

Question: I wonder what would happen if we blessed the President vs. cursed at him.
