Introduction:

Illustration: What are the odds

Purpose: God’s Love compels us to live for Him

1. We are motivated (controlled) by the love of Christ

Love of Christ - this is the love that Christ has shown to us.
vs. 18-19 “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;”
v. 21 - For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him
This is the gospel
Reconcile - to become friends; to resolve conflict
Romans 5:1–2 KJV 1900
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Constraineth - controlls, compells, forces.
Illustration - plato into a mold
What does this love motivate us to do?

II. We are motivated to Serve God

2 Corinthians 5:15 KJV 1900
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
Living for God is at the basis for every decision that we make
God must take the priority in what we do
constraineth - “This is a motivational force rather than directional force.”
“We love him because He first loved us.”
This is in our new nature
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV 1900
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
You are a knew creature, that is designed to serve God. Your old self only served self. God is who we must serve.
Colossians 3:1 KJV 1900
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Colossians 3:2 KJV 1900
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

III. What we must do with this love?

Tell others!
2 Corinthians 5:19–20 KJV 1900
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 3:2–3 KJV 1900
Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
Expression: The only Bible some people will read is YOU
Be a good testimony for Jesus Christ
The man of sorrows died in agony,
struck once by God for my iniquity.
He satisfied the Father's holy wrath,
And drank the bitter cup in my behalf.
Constrained by Christ's atoning Sacrifice,
without reserve, I offer Him my life.
Redeeming love compels me to proclaim
The all surpassing glory of His name.
Resplendent in His royal majesty,
My king still wears the scars of calvary.
His death wounds show the depth of selfless Love,
imploring me to live for things above.
Constrained by Christ's atoning Sacrifice,
without reserve, I offer Him my life.
Redeeming love compels me to proclaim
The all surpassing glory of his name.
For Him I count my life no longer mine. In His great work, a higher call I find. To lose myself and find my all in Christ, I follow on and gladly pay the price. Constrained by christ's atoning Sacrifice, without reserve, I offer Him my life. Redeeming love compels me to proclaim The all surpassing glory of his name.
